It bugs me when people pronounce things wrong. Especially on commercials or TV shows.
I remember I was watching what not to wear once and the chick kept calling Clinton clin-en.
It drove me nuts.

FRlGHT It bugs me when people pronounce things wrong. Especially on commercials or TV shows. I remember I was watching what not to wear once and the chick kept calling Clinton clin-en. It drove me nuts. I've notices people pronouncing "arctic" "artict" As if the C is silent... I wanna smack em.... But so many people get really insulted when you correct them so most of the time you just have to bite your tongue...

It isn't as bad as when people pronounce your last name wrong...
I am so over people who do that, I even spell it out and they can't get it right...so, one client of mine, thinks my last name is wheelbarrow... *shakes head*

I can't really rant much in this thread considering the fact I have adopted the Philly accent in all my years of living here. I pronounce water WU-DER And then the Boston accent, like hell I know where this came from, Yesterday is YES-TAH-DAY o.O
I usually catch myself but when I'm talking quickly, these things do happen. And that last line would totally be said with an Italian accent.

But isn't tomato the same as potato?
Lol I hate it as well but I do it as well. All the time especially with the word "specific" I always say "pacific"

Southern accent are hell on mispronunciations. I pissed my mom off the other day becasue I was talking about rabbit hunting and I said "We need a big freeze so the cold will kill all of the sick ones" I'm sure it sounded like "Wea naed uh bigh freeze soh the cowld'll kill all 'a sikkens" Because me mom was all What the ******** just came out of your mouth. So I tried again and toned the accent down. Lol oh well.

An accent is different.
I don't mind that, its when people pronounce a word really wrong, like oregon and nuclear.
Its not that they spoke it with an accent but that they spoke it incorrectly.

Its pretty common, It is spelled that way. But my family is from oregon. Nothing pisses them off more then when its pronounced Oreg-ON lol
FRIGHT:
Thats how most people pronounce it.
But think of DELL computers, And GLISH. Thats how its pronounced. DELL-GLISH.
I can see how people would pronounce it wrong the first time. But after i keep explaining it to people it gets oss...
DOG-LEASH is the one that bothers me most. XD
