I was in the car one day, found a random cd and put it in to listen to. I usually like listening to music in the car, you know? Since they are basically my parents cd's then they don't mind listening. I was thinking, "Hey, this stuff is actually really good!" After listening to a few songs, I took the cd inside to rip music off of it. I ripped the whole cd and love 'em all. Most of my band obsessions have to do with me stealing my parents cd's. I return them and they usually see me do it so not so bad. Mom just laughs when I say, "I'm stealing this." So then I looked them up on the net and all. So they are my newest band obsession.

Honestly, I haven't been a fan of The Doors very long. How about you all?

The Lost Boys hmm...aren't there some Aerosmith songs in there? I've never watched it, but I think someone in my Aerosmith guild was talking about their songs being in that movie.

A friend of mine told me to check them out before music was available in the internet. So I had to buy their The Doors album. And to tell the truth I like lengthy songs like The End and Light my Fire from The Doors and love at first sight does exist.
By the way, ever heard of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly? Since you all like the Doors I bet you will like this song, check it out. It's the longest good song I have ever ran into.

The longest song you've ever ran into, huh? How long is the song?

My Mom told me that I might like Iron Butterfly. I listened to a few of their songs, but they didn't really appeal to me. I either don't like their music or listened to the wrong ones. That's an interesting title for a song. I'll have to check it out.

That's awesome! I am a recent fan so I haven't been into them all that long. My Dad really likes "Riders on the Storm" and other music. My parents would play it in the car. Back then when I was a kid, I didn't really show much interest in it though.

You been listening to the wrong songs. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is 17 minutes long (only 8 lines song) and it originally meant In the Garden of Eden but one of the members slurred it while he was high or drunk as In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida and so it became In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. It has the best drum solo ever.
And also Possession is a great song, one of the best I've heard of Acid Rock. Ironically enough, it's only 2 minutes and a half but it's lyrics mean a thousand words, although there are only 5 lines of lyrics.
A must check the songs I underlined!

Alright, I'll check them when I get on later. I can't stay on very long right now, I'm about to leave. The only songs I know that are nearly 17 minutes long are "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd (boringggg song) and that one song by AFI that slips my mind.

Seems like a few of us got into it from our parents. Makes perfect sense though. That's how I got into The Doors.

I actually like Freebird quite a lot, it's only 9 minutes. Lynyrd Skynyrd are one of my many favorite bands. And I love long songs like The End by The Doors and Since I've been loving you by Led Zeppelin. The only songs I really enjoy are the long ones.

Really? I thought Freebird was way longer. Maybe it's because I just don't enjoy it all that much. It just ain't my kind of song.

It's interesting that you enjoy long songs because I don't know many people like that, I don't think. If I do, they never said much about liking long songs.

For me, i had heard them on the radio but really didnt know who they were at the time. After hearing the name, The Doors, i wasnt sure still who they were. Then one day i was at walmart and i saw the movie "The Doors" for 5$ i thought "Hmmm." So i got it, watched it, and i was blown away. What struck me so much wasnt the movie, but the music, it was this sound unlike anything id ever heard. I thought it was fantastic. A week later i bought "Waiting for the Sun" and loved it!

That's cool surprised usually with a movie, it's the characters and plotline and stuff that people really pay attention to instead of the music. That's good that you picked out the music and all =] that's the best part.
