So my character dosent wavedash, but it is an important part of movement for some characters. Here is a vid i found on wavedashing by a korean guy.

hum, i use this all the time but never knew the name for it i just called it dashing, thanks for the info and the vid

It's what you normally see in many pro tekken matches.

being that i use yoshimitsu and he dosent have a wave dash, this is what i primarily use. i dont believe it has a particular name, but its using dash back and forward with side step canceling. easy way of doing it is b, b, d, b, b, u.

actually its similar to wavedashing, but without such hard imputs. The way i did it before the console came out, was just hanging out in the arcade and just constantly moving the joystick around in w/e direction. Lets you get a feel for the stick. Just keep slowly getting faster and then try to choose directions and move it quickly. you will get after a bit of practice biggrin

(its very useful, i recommend it highly. also check out the vids in the yoshi section, the first one is actually my teacher and he is really good at it)

I think it might be hard for Tenshi and I to give good advice on this topic if you're using the dpad. We only played tekken with an arcade stick and we will only play with an arcade stick. So I apologize now for any lack of advice that we can give.
