Weeee! School holidays! Sorry if I haven't dropped by this guild (or gaia for that matter) for such a long while (I'm frost_pick BTW). Its just one of those instances where you seem to have a chain of events going on at once with no break in between. It just so happens that most of the best gigs occur in the holidays and naturally, I have an obligation to be there smile
One of my friend's younger sisters had some big party and I was invited so that my friend would at least have someone there his age. The party sucked... at least for me. All I found there were a bunch of teeny bopper chics in pink with stupid slogans on their shirts like "Tell me the rules, I'll show you how to break them". Then the grade 9er boys! Erghh. A gallon of hair gel on each of them and the pathetic attempts at looking macho in front of the girls. And the music! Urggh, never have I heard more teenage pop punk played consecutively. I seriously missed that phase when I was in grade 9. But more annoyingly, even when we walked away from the party into the garden, a few girls followed us! Seriously! What is with this obsession for dating older guys! Just because they want someone more mature doesn't mean we don't as well, if you get my drift.
Anyways other than that, the rest was kickass. Saw Grand Fatal live, energy packed performance as usual, I was tempted to just jump on stage and smash their guitars. But I would've just made an a** of myself so I restrained my agitated state. After that I went to an ACTUAL PARTY! Awesome hardcore music! Black Flag, Husker Du, The Vandals and the Dead Kennedys just to name a few! The bass was pumped up to the maximum so that it was basically a live concert without the occasional accidental dischords. I mean yeah toward the end it deterioted to just everyone lying lazily on top of each other talking about random topics (I think we eventually trailed off to what it would be like to go into war with an automatic water pistol) but it was a sweet party nevertheless. *sigh*... gotta love the holidays!
I think there's a My Chemical Romance (don't like them), Alkaline Trio (don't mind them) and a Champion (not too bad) joint all ages gig going on but not sure if I should go.
So whats the last gig you guys went to?

you should go for Alkaline Trio alone... I love them whee Last gig I went to was too long ago gonk It was Roxy Music, in July... I went to Mattew Street Festival in August but I dont think that counts (it was all pop bands, we only went to keep an eye on my friend's little sister and her friend) It's strange cause I usually have at least one or two gigs in November but there weren't any this year.. going to see Duran Duran in a week though, that should be good.

Heh, I had to babysit my friend's sister to the Coca Cola 'live'n'local concert earlier this year. The only band I liked there was The Living End and they played two songs and then just walked off. The rest were pretty horrible but the little kids around me seemed to go beserk even before the bands started playing... it really killed the mood.

yeah The Living End are pretty cool 3nodding This thing I went to was pretty much like that. None of the bands got to play more than two songs, apart from McFly. I was deafened by the high pitch screaming when they came on stage sweatdrop
