I'm pretty sure you know gaia just banned cigs. And correct me if you think I'm crazy, but for surely this has something to do with their "offers".Or more like how much we ranted about theme, when they first came out the SF was filled with flaming hate comments and huge arguments against gaia. Now what?damn nobody post about that stuff anymore in the fourms Cause it all died down,so gaia figured "we don't have to do anything about it" Guess what? Now everyone hates gaia again and gaia probably wont do anything about cause they figure it all just blow over!Although I'm not saying anyone who didn't actively hate gaia is a criminal (I'm guilty of such myself.)but I think we really need to get the message to gaia that things aren't gonna just die down.

Personally, removing the tobacco related items from the shops was a bad idea. It does not promote that smoking is bad; instead it makes smoking items LUXURY ITEMS. Just look in the marketplace! If they really wanted to remove smoking items, they should have removed them from the shops and replaced all the items in everyone's possession into gold.
However; saying don't smoke, but feel free to get a credit card before you've hit puberty... That's freaking ridiculous. Don't get me wrong; I don't like smoking, but I have never relied on gaia to promote morals. It's NOT a kid-friendly site, due to the forum content and some of the items, and I'm not necessarily speaking of the smoking stuff.

I completely agree,if want to get a credit card (and I'm only 13)It's OK.and if I want to get some some wine for my avatar it's a OK,but forbid I e-smoke and I may get e-lung cancer.I just don't see why gaia thinks they can get away this without a s**t storm from it's user base.

There are a lot of Gaians in the SF forum who are pissed at the fact they would ban something like the kiseru, which has more cultural and ethnic meaning than smoking (once upon a time it served as a concealed weapon and only the very rich could have them) and yet leave things like the Carol of Ebenezer and the Gambino doll (both of which are cash shop items), completely untouched or altered to go with the ban.

I hate to admit it but I believe the main reason for that is because things like carol are cash shop items.for one people would get seriously pissed if they paid real money for something they cant sell and for two they'd lose money.

Oh, yeah, I forgot there's some smoking not-in-stores items... Which kinda makes me wonder why they would do this at all. Really.

They repealed the cig ban. Silly gaia. I didn't know it was done on such a whim. Or that the cig items had been soulbound.

On a brighter note, the repeal of the cig ban proves that Gaia listens to it's users. So many people objected to it that Gaia basically caved.
I had no problem with the cig ban, but I had a problem when my cig became soulbound. It's my unhealthy item and I'll do with it what I want kthxbai. talk2hand lol
No, seriously, the reason the cig ban was almost immediately repealed is because so many people complained about it. I think, on the surface, Gaia had good reasons to ban tobacco items, but the overall concept was stupid. My avi smoking is not going to encourage me to smoke. In fact, I'm highly against tobacco products in real life. rolleyes
That's my 2 cents. Enjoy it.

Since they wouldn't be as bad as the cigarettes in real life. But ever since back when the Indians roamed they would smoke tobacco leafs. >> I want some. xd ninja
