I've not got much to say. I love John, even though I never got the chance to meet him personally (him being dead eight years before I was ever born). He had a lot of heart and it's almost as if everybody knew him personally, like he was everybody's oh-so-cool big brother or the joker uncle that everybody loves to see at a family reunion.

But even though he's not here bodily, he'll always be around--peering over our shoulders, whispering suggestions to poets and musicians, encouraging people to stand up for the Dream.

After all, we all shine on.

John Lennon made an immeasurable impact on the world, not just in the music industry. He was taken from us twenty-five years ago, but his legacy will never die.

I wore my John Lennon shirt and a total of nine peace signs (because John was quite preoccupied with the number nine) today.

Unfortunately, and to my shock and dismay, no one knew why I was dressed up. Not even my teachers, who are all old enough to remember the Beatles coming to America for the first time. They should have remembered John Lennon's death. No one said anything other than "Hey, why do you have a peace sign drawn on your face?"

I don't think of him as dead but a part of us, as humans. His soul is within us. I made a banner today. People either noticed and said "Cool!" or they laughed at me. I don't care. I bet John is laughing at their stupidity.

Twenty five years, how they pass in the blink of an eye. I wasn't even a month old when he was killed.

I haven't forgotten, John. But I also haven't remembered. I've only learned.

i wore my purple ribbons today, hippie thought it was a good idea... with my lennon in new york shirt. I had ribbons practically everywhere, but no one specifically noticed. One girl came in and said this must be the worst day of Kimi's life - she has 2 exams and John Lennon is dead..... yes. it was a bad day. but happy at the same time. i've been listening to the classic rock radio station all day - all lennon all day, and i cried twice, first before school when i heard "in my life" and then later when i heard "give peace a chance." ... wow. ^_^;
My mom is watching a Lennon special right now and my is lighting nine candles at 10:50pm... John is very much remembered in my house.

It's a sad thing when that happens. It happened to me today. And I had "John Lennon : 1940 - 1980" written on my hand, and they're all. "Who's that?"

I almost shouted. neutral But I would have broken the peace I created around myself and my group of schoolfriends.

Tonight I'm lighting candles from the time he was shot until the time he passed. I might have been born a long nine years after, but that doesn't mean that I can't give my own little rest-in-peace shrine.

And I refused today to be political in anyway. (I'm normally a communist. Not a Soviet. A peaceful communist who just wants a better way to run the economy, so everyone has a fair chance. )

Aside from all my blabbing..

Rest in peace, John. <3

I encouraged people to embrace peace today. ...Well, Dad and Karen anyway. Being as I can't leave the house. Stupid surgery.

I also watched Imagine: John Lennon when it was on TV today, and sobbed through most of the second half of the movie. crying

crying I listened to that song a lot today. If I were home, I would have watched all the bios that were on. I did get a chance to watch one this evening, and I was so melancholy. sad I refuse to do my English homework today. We're reading Catcher in the Rye. I'd feel so horrible if I read the same book that the man who killed John read on the same day 25 years ago.

I'll take the fall on that quiz. It's just a quiz anyway.
