How to Put an Image in Your Post/Signature

User Image

ASSUMPTION: Have the image saved to your hard drive (your computer).

1. First you need to find a website to "host" your image online. We have 3 suggestions.
    Photobucket.com
This is free, but it does require registration. This is a positive if you want to keep track of all your images.

    Tinypic.com
This is free, and it doesn't require registration. This is a positive if you want to upload pictures quickly.

    Imageshack.us
This is free, and it doesn't require registration. This is a positive if you want to upload pictures quickly.

For this example we will use Tinypic.

Hit the "Browse" button and find the image that you want to use in your signature. Hit "Upload Now" to upload it.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

2. When you hit "Upload Now", a set of boxes will appear near the bottom of the screen. The second box contains the image with the coding that you will need. Copy the coding in its entirety.
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

3. Paste the coding that you copied from the block into the post/reply block area or your signature area.
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

If you want to make the image link to a thread:
Use this coding.

A Rule
Please do not Quote this Post

Good Rules of Thumb:

1. Do not post giant animated gifs.
They take forever to load, especially for users on dial-up connections.

2. Do not post images that are over 650x650.
Larger images tend to stretch pages and can be very annoying for other users.
