Name: Talice (obsession taken) Rilath (house of dragon) Gender: Female. Stage: Ilharres Class: Yathrin Seer.
Personality: Being able to see the future doesn't actually make you feel especially secure about your own future. In Talice's case, she's paranoid to put it politely and absolutely looney toons to put bluntly. She's prone to over-analysing every vision she has, especially if it's unclear, cryptic or just shows something that she dislikes. She's more than willing to argue over minutae, stubborn to a fault and absolutely determined to make other people understand her visions, even if they'd much rather just go to sleep than hear her debate if the man's tunic was teal or turquoise. Because the difference is crucial when it comes to knowing which conspiracy the man belongs to! They have different uniforms.
When she's not working, she's a devout worshiper of Lloth and believes that those who follow other gods are heretics who should be thrown out. She takes frequent lovers, none of whom she actually loves or even pays much attention to once the deed is done, but has yet to have any children of her own. She doesn't mind that. Children are something that will come in her future, if Lloth wills it. If not, that doesn't matter. Talice isn't particularly fond of children anyway. Other people can mold fragile young minds; she has a future for the Underdark to mold.
She rarely shouts, preferring to remain coolly composed at all times. She's more likely to cut off someone's ear to get their attention than to try to talk over them and often uses her cadre of guards as enforcers in order to get her way or make sure that everyone pays heed to her orders. Seers might be highly protected but Talice isn't naive. No drow is. Lloth blessed her and she uses her abilities to the fullest and isn't picky about whom she uses them on. Anyone could be the enemy. Anyone. Even you.
Personal history: Talice is the child of a priestess and a cut throat. Her father died before she was old enough to have any clear memories of him and as soon as she had her first vision, her mother gave her up to the temple of Lloth. Raised within the temple confines, guarded at all times in case she had an inconveniently timed vision and fell into a fireplace while in the grips of Lloth's touch. She understands the need for protection and flaunts her guards as symbols of her high status and rarity, even as she commands them to perform tasks purely for her own amusement. Her sadistic streak manifests itself most often when dealing with them, Talice having an expert's touch for ritual scarification and a taste for testing out magic bindings on people whom she knows are not allowed to harm her in any manner.
Her first vision was at the relatively young age of forty. Before that, she lived with her mother in the temple. She had no living siblings at that time (two dead brothers, one dead sister) but a decade or so after becoming a Seer, Talice heard that her mother had given birth to a young boy. Talice has never met her half-brother though she has seen her mother separately when her mother visits the temple and asks for an audience with the Seer. She has very little interest in her mother's life and expects the woman to die soon. She might attend the funeral, or she might just avoid it in case it's a trap to lure her into an ambush to kill her. Seers are rare. Of course people would want to kill her. Especially those heretics. They'd do anything to undermine the reign of Lloth and her priestesses.

Spells & Familiars:
As a Seer, she can have occasional visions of the future. They vary greatly in clarity, duration and usefulness. Sometimes, she'll see someone stub their toe. Not too helpful. Another time, she'll see them stub their toe just before raising a bow to assassinate the matron of a House. Much more helpful. She can't control when they descend or how long they last, though she can try to induce them with meditation and certain herbs. That, however, is extremely draining so she'll only do it if commanded by a Jabbress.
She also has a limited amount of telepathy. It's made easier when someone is concentrating strongly on an objective, meaning it's much simpler for her to read the mind of an assassin focused on their target than it is to figure out what a drunk person is thinking.
Finally, she has True Sight. Looking at someone allows her to see what their souls are like. Given most drow are unflinchingly sadistic and evil, though, Talice tends to think that all souls look alike. It's also an ability that she has to deliberately activate, like putting on a pair of sunglasses, not her default state.

Journal Entry I:
I have been given this journal in hopes that writing down my thoughts will help me keep track of visions more clearly. I'm not sure what the reasoning behind that belief is -- perhaps that if I grow accustomed to recalling events and taking notes on them, my mind will automatically observe my own visions more closely? Very well. If this will help me, I will do it.
It's not, you understand, that I have any problem with my memory. I don't. But remembering visions isn't the same as remembering a trip you took to the market. Visions are like dreams, sometimes. Other times, they're like nightmares. They can be as translucent as smoke, slipping through your fingers and leaving you with nothing more than a vague impression of danger or sorrow, or as sharp and starkly memorable as a dagger in your ribs.
But let's not talk about daggers. Unless we're talking about mine, of course. Mine came back from the poisoner's today. They now have a beautiful green sheen overlaying the steel blades; let's see how long that lasts, shall we? If events continue along their usual tracks, I have no doubt that I will soon get to test out his latest sample of his wares. He's promised that they're non-lethal, which is good. I do so hate it when people die too quickly on me. Watching them writhe is much more fun and then afterwards, when they've healed, all I have to do is smile in a certain way and they'll cringe.
Males are so servile. It's delicious.
...I think that's enough writing for one day. I've just thought of a far more entertaining way to spend my time.
