Vortex Springs
http://underwaterflorida.homestead.com/vortex.html
Its not the greatest place in the world but it is where i got certified. The water was in the 60's when my group went, the visibility was ok...not good. It was a bit crowded on one of our dives so there was alot of algie stured up. They sometimes vaccuum the bottom so if you plan on going see if you can find out the last time they cleaned the spring.
There arnt that many fish at the bottom but their are HUGE Coi near the surface. Also there is a good sized eel in the cavern.

There is a cave, but since im not certified for that I cant tell you much....(i just got to touch the sign telling me to go back)

The dive shop has some scuba equipment not a large selection of BC's. There is equipment for rent, in total i think it costs around $50 (or used to).
Besides the Scuba area there is a large area to just swim, they have a swing, small zipline, and several diving boards.
As far as acomodations are concerned the dorm thingy they have is a good idea for large groups, we just put boys on one side and girls on the other. In the dorms there are bathrooms for both the girls and boys, each bathroom has two stalls and two showers. If you do not have a large group there is also tent and RV camping, and a few small cabins.
Its a pretty fun place, and if you live nearby and you just need to blow some bubbles.......
