I'm very fond of music from the 60's. While I obviously love the Monkees, I am also a fan of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Mamas and the Papas, The Kinks, Jefferson Airplane, and many more!
For more modern music, I am fond of Stone Temple Pilots and Filter, along with some other rock bands. Some modern pop music isn't too bad, either.
I see a great deal of influence from 60's bands in modern music. It is interesting how, in a way, it is really a process of evolution.
