I've always wondered, what is the reason that christians don't do halloween? I've always been told that it is not following the Bible and God in doing it, and I kind of understand why, but I'm not that sure...
Can anyone help me understand this?

Without doing any research, I'd say, not being an american, i barely know a thing.

I think I remember hearing that Halloween was a celebration that witches had gone or something.

Eh well.

Im not sure I beleive in Daemons, Demons or whatever. But they were mentioned in the bible. Its like, do you beleive in angels? Well, of course. So I guess its a yes.

i did research, kinda.
its like, the Celts celebrated Halloween, cos that was when the dead returned to earth [ooh, creepy.] .

I don't really know why we don't do Halloween. All I know is that I can't be stuffed to do it. Most people aren;t.

Yes, you would think.

No...

First of all... who said Christians don't do Halloween?
Christians do... they invented a holiday back in the day called all hallows eve.

But for those who don't... it's because of the affiliation with the spanish holiday day of the dead and the celts holiday as well as a few other holidays that have a strong demonic affiliation

as for your poll question... i would be saying no except I've had my fair share of supernatural encounters... and not because I was looking for it.

I also think it's dangerous to say no, considering they are mentioned in the Bible.

Specifically when Jesus released the "Demon possessed man" and sent the "Demons" into the pigs

I wouldn't exactly say dangerous, but definetly when I remembered that I thought it at least 'wrong' or 'incorrect'.

Yes that is true.
Wow, What type of supernatural encounters?
When I was eight years old there was a church next door that had a habit of performing exorcisms... the problem was that they never sent the spirits that they were dealing with anywhere. So they remained in the church

My brother and I were going to go into the church as it had a basketball court inside of it (it doubled as a gym) and when we walked up to the door we felt resistance on the other side as if someone from the inside was turning the handle in the opposite direction. (We knew that there was no one inside)

When we walked around the side of the church we looked inside and I can't begin to describe to you what we saw... but for nearly a minute I felt paralyzed... I can tell you that what my memory allows is only orbs but I know that we saw more than that...and under normal circumstances I would have attributed it to a child's imagination... but the lasting effect and the lasting fear that it inspired and the feeling that I feel anytime I try and describe it or talk about it... I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that what we saw was real

A second encounter that I had was similar, but it was outside. It was a year or two later and outside my house I saw a "shadow" and that's all I can describe it as... the shadow itself had physical form and I again was more or less paralyzed but it.

Both of these experiences have completely changed my outlooks on things
However there were several others and they all revolved around this one house. I don't believe in the existence of ghosts per say I do however believe in the existence of familiar spirits (demonic spirits who take on the forms of people who have passed on)

No I really believe its dangerous because if you deny the existence of something as powerful as the supernatural then you are more apt to doing things that would open the door to allow them into your life because you do not believe in them... and once they begin affecting your life it becomes very hard to get rid of them

Wow, I must say, hearing about supernatural encounters before is very new to me, as I have neither had or heard of a supernatural expierience before, thakyou for sharing it!

Hmm....it is only whilst interacting with american christians i have heard of this. But for a long time in my life i lived in denial of demons, and havent come across anything supernatural but the love of god.

That is because Satan and his followers work heavily here because we are free to worship as we wish while in other places people aren't.

But besides that the word demon may not be appropriate but if you read the genesis story you see that "Lucifer and his followers were cast down" so there are other evil beings and instead of calling them fallen angels it is simply easier to call them demons

Also remember there is a difference between demon possession and demon oppression
