Just a question I need a little help answering. For Christmas we usually get my dad a few games, except he has already bought the ones my mom wanted to get him (CoD:MW2 and AC2).
Just asking what you think he might like. He plays lots of those FPS games, rarely touches Sport or Racing games, though he has been known to play NHL or MotorStorm when we got it with the PS3. He isn't really much of a fan of heavy Japanese Animation I think (think Devil May Cry 4, a game he played once or twice and hasn't touched since) He also fairly enjoys games like God of War, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Tomb Raider, and Metal Gear Solid, you know, ones that aren't mainly a shooter.
The few ideas I had were Borderlands, and maybe Brutal Legend? Maybe if you've played them, you could give me feedback? Another idea is that I heard that Bioshock recently came to PS3, so that is an idea of mine also.
A couple games he has gotten already would be CoD:MW2, AC2, Uncharted 2, MGS4:GotP, and Dead Space.
So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! (But he really only plays PS3 anymore...so those games only)
Thanks smile

Why don't you try asking him which games he would buy next if he was to spend more money on games, just in a general conversation, that way you know which games for sure he'll want. Then buy one of those games, just as long as he doesn't buy it first before Christmas comes.

The only game that I know he wants to play is Left 4 Dead 2 when he saw it on a commercial last night. But sadly, we don't own a 360 yet, and he doesn't PC game anymore.
But that's a good idea, thanks smile

It sounds that inFamous is perfect for him if you guys don't already have it. The price cut has just been announced and when Cole shoots, it's in a third person view. It's an open world game packed with options and side missions. A new DLC will be released soon [which will be free], so take advantage of that :3
If Shooting is what he likes, Try Killzone 2. A leader in FPS for the PS3 console. Consider that one because it's multiplayer online has strong community.

Ya, I've played inFamous before. Pretty sweet. I think he was eyeing it though when I was playing.
We might own Killzone 2...no wait, only the first.
The thing is finding a game he will stay interested in. We've bought him many games for Christmas, and father's day, only he plays it once or twice then doesn't touch it for monthes. Until he all of a sudden wants to play it...Like Metal Gear Solid 4. Wouldn't touch it, then all of a sudden, Bam! And I was playing it with him for 3 hours every evening.
He thinks he is so easy to buy for...not
Thanks for the ideas though smile

inFamous is a good comic-esque game. :3
As for FPS; I have only played the Resistance games. Dunno if he would like them tho.

Well, news to me, Mom was talking about getting a 360 today, and that she was going to try and convince my father to get one. Which suprised me, because she hates all the time I put into videogames and all...
Dad wants to know what he can get that isn't on the PS3, and i said Left 4 Dead 2, (We bought him this for the PC today, which is when mom told me about the 360) and then he wanted to get one.
And he is the boss of his job...But he is real busy already.
Gift card sounds tempting though.
As for Resistance, he played the 2nd one I think. Not sure if he likes it or not, cause he doesn't really talk to people when he plays.
