I have a fearful side that doesn't want to go to war and die and does not want to kill. (I wanna be in the National Guard).
There's a voice or whatever within me that whacks me with a stick and tells me to suck it up and whatnot.
Who should I side with?
I gotta talk to a professional.

Me no pro but I do have something to say.
You should do what you think is best and not to do what another person thinks u should do. just follow that little part of yourself that leads you to your destiny in life. (no, this was not taken out of a book)

It seems you have an overwhelming sense of duty to your country. However, you need to remember that there are better ways to serve your country than the national guard. Becoming a law enforcement official is, in my opinion, more beneficial to the survival of the USA. If we destroy ourselves from the inside, then there is no point to our military.

If you are having second thoughts about killing people, any military career is probably not the best option for you. No amount of therapy will make you less shy about killing. If you're insistent upon that career path, try looking into the CIA/FBI/Law enforcement. All are very rewarding careers 3nodding
