((Continuation from this thread: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=17415231It has been 'moved' because of Gaia trouble. Please continue as though it's the same thread.)) Ronchas didn't bother interacting as social events weren't his thing. Instead, he left Violet to watch the room as he went to mix the eggnog. The rum was a good one and he mixed it a little stronger than most recipes call for. He would, of course, have a plain pitcher for all those who prefer not to drink alcohol. He poured the strong mixture into a red pitcher, poured plain eggnog into a green one, and set them both into a small bowl filled with ice, so they wouldn't curdle as they sat there. He picked up the little sign that Violet had made and laughed before setting it out with the large bowl onto the buffet table at one end. The sign read: "RED HAS RUM" in very nice handwriting. Good thing Ronchas didn't have to do it.

Samantha Macalister "I didn't even think, just grabbed the cups. I remember when they used to love them, too..." Shaking her head and then leaning against Xearus's side. Well, her children weren't going to be talking to her for the rest of the night and wasn't that just grand? "My father did that to me and I hated it. Hated it so much sometimes I just wanted to get him back for it too..." Which made her wonder if her own two would react the same way. She glanced up as the cups were tossed back into the bag covertly but chose not to say anything. 'Would you go get me a plate, Casanova? I'm beginning to feel lightheaded..." "I can't believe she did that..." He shook his head and took the cup his sister offered, taking a long sip of it. "Ugh, it's not the good stuff either but it'll do." Where had his mother's mind been when she was packing the bag? She'd never done anything like this before... "No one better ever know. I know two sets of twins who would never let us live it down and I'm not looking for that kind of daily humiliation." Kara smiled it gave a whole new term to growing up too fast when you still remembered when they liked the sippy cups. "It happens, besides they do keep things from spilling when you need to take liquids with you." Though she wondered why Sam would have to take liquids with her when drinks were provided at the party. She pointed to Donovan, "He embarrasses without even trying, this is our first time having blood children, but not having children in the house." "I do not," Donovan protested, "I have never done anything embarrassing.""I think giving all those boys a talk before Lin went off on her first field trip counts as embarrassing." "As if us chaperoning wasn't embarrassing enough."

"Pretty soon we'll be saying hello to the wonderful world of teenagers. Try to enjoy this while it lasts." But nodding a pressing a kiss to his wife's temple, heading over to the table to get her a plate. Oh look, they even nicely have booze laced into some of the drinks. Nice. Who knew when you would need that. But back to picking through table contents, knowing what Sam would want...and getting some less than healthy things for himself as well. Party meant indulge for him. He'd just hit the gym an extra day.
She sipped at her own cup, content with it despite the slightly off taste that it had to it. "Better than nothing." Always did their mood good as well. Sitting down in one of the chairs along the wall she took to dipping some of her cookies in the red substance in her plastic cup. "I'm not telling anyone, and you won't either and we're the only one's here besides the babies. I think we're safe."

She was more than pleased to take a chicken wing off that plate and eat it slowly while her body adjusted to her answering it's call of giving it sustenance. She was a doctor; she knew better than that. Clucking her tongue over some of the other things on that plate, she knew not to say anything. "Water bottles do too." Tilting her head at the couple, she quirked a brow. "How many other children do you have?"
"Make sure nobody sees you doing that. They're going to question why the liquid is the same color as the cup when there's nothing red up there." Plopping down beside her and giving a heavy sigh. "Dad said he might be able to get us out of this thing early if nobody else shows up our age. And then I get to go to Harper's."

Donovan shrugged at that, "I lost count after twenty. The only reason why we can go through with a normal pregnancy is because they were all unusual cases of fast maturation. So most of them are all grown up and moved out, the only ones who aren't moved out are the ones we wouldn't trust by themselves."
Kara eyed the food, though she was in the mood for sweets, but sweets would have to be more later. For some reason, she was thinking snowball cookies, but later. Besides she was reminded that she was peckish.
She looked up at Donovan, "Nibble?"
Donovan who understood all of his wife's odd quirks (and had been very well trained) nodded, "Anything in particular?"
"Snowballs...."
He sighed, the table better have that, "I'll add rabbit food with that, excuse me for a moment."
At least Donovan though eying the table he hoped that there were veggies and the like to munch on.

((Sorry Kara, got caught up in school doom spiral.))
He watched Donovan wander off to fetch food and turned his attention back to how his wife was looking over the plate. "Don't look at it or me like that. The word party is applied here and thus I will be treating it as such in the utmost definition of the word. Besides, I've been good lately I deserve some fat and sugar."
"I'm being careful." This was just one of those things they didn't talk about in public because it upset people or something silly like that. But a few cookies down and she took to drinking the blood in her cup instead of using it as a dipping medium. "What are you and Harper going to do?"

"Really?" Yes, Sam's curiosity had been piqued and her analytical, scientific mind was going at full speed. "Purposefully or was it the cause of some other catalyst that wasn't identified until it was too late? Or have you still not fully identified why it occurs?" Twenty was an awful lot after all.
It was always amusing to see a husband and wife interact with each other. They had a language all their own and it usually involved inside jokes and thoughts that only the couple was privy to. Such was playing out on her side of the fence, too as her own husband interpreted the look she gave him spot on. "I have to worry about what you feed your insides. If you don't take care of those, you'll disappear and leave me to raise two teenagers. I can't do that alone." Patting his tummy and then snagging a piece of chocolate off the plate. "Maybe I'll indulge a bit as well."
"Have a party, maybe go to the mall, do something fun. Who knows. Harper always has the neatest ideas and then I get to have fun." Giving his sister a grin. "If you're nice to me, I'll ask mom and dad if you can come along and you can bribe Haley to come out and play too."

"It's part of who, or what they are," Kara admitted, "It might have to do with the fact they all came from objects....."
At least that was how Kara would explain it, feathers and vases and things like that, none of them were technically born or even adopted as a baby.
"Most of them came from vases...."
She always considered to be like artificial wombs of sorts. Kara really did miss having really young children run around.
As she was musing this Donovan had come back in good time, though he knew exactly what he was looking for and as promised he brought veggies, crackers, some cheese and of course the snowball cookies which Kara had wanted.
"I swear your sweet tooth as grown since this whole pregnancy thing...." he murmured.
((It's okay it happens. ))

"I'm pretty sure a few overly sugary things will not harm me too much. My insides are perfectly happy. When they aren't you'll be the first to know. I'm sure my appendix will be the first thing to go anyway. It's lazy." Eating another little cocktail hot dog smothered in something off of a toothpick. "Maybe? Oh you know you will. The power of holiday cheer compels you." Ha he loved to pick at her still. He'd never grow out of that.
Well the boys were going to have fun weren't they? Meanwhile she'd be stuck at home. Maybe she could convince mama to let her play the game system to keep herself busy. What with them fighting lately she didn't assume she was automatically invited to things anymore. Especially when Harper was involved.
But look at that, she was getting invited anyway but under conditions. "I am being nice." She wasn't at least being openly mean...they were actually working together at this thing. Sometimes she wished Haley wasn't so girly. She didn't even like to get dirty. "She'd probably come if I could make up a good reason for her to go."

"You're not supposed to say things like that, Xearus Calder." Shaking her head and rolling her eyes. "I have to watch out for you because you never do it." Stealing a few more candy things off his plate and then looking around for her twins. "Xearus, why are Thobias and Felicity all the way over there. They look like their plotting. Did he say something to you earlier?"
"Good. Keep it up." He glanced around and then sighed. Clearly their friends weren't coming anytime soon. "A good reason? Tell her boys are going to be there and she'll be there faster than you can pull up your favorite list on your Ipod."

Kara had to giggle at that, the way the two were together before glancing over her shoulder to where Xearus and Samantha's twins were. She wasn't sure if that was plotting children looked like, even though she had seen plotting children before, but they were her own, and she didn't know those two that well.
"Maybe they're bored?" Kara suggested, "After all there aren't any children yet who had come in that are their age."

"I do too. It just looks like I don't. There's skill in that you know." She didn't have room to talk anyway as she was eating the less than healthy things too. Her stomach often trumped her doctor's mind when there were exceptionally yummy things to be had. "That's not plotting. If that was plotting there would be whispering. He is hoping to leave here soon if nothing is going on. Harper is apperntly having a party or something." Turning a look to Kara and nodding his head to her suggestion. "Bored is probably right because they are alone in age here."
"She does like chasing boys. I think they're too much trouble." Still at her age, she had yet to see the wonderful world of boys as something to dabble in other than tormenting them. But kicking her feet and her boredom getting the better of her she looked to her brother. "Break something."

"So you keep telling me and I keep rolling my eyes and telling you no." But he was so cute that she couldn't resist kissing his cheek. Of course her attention was then turned to her children once more. "A party? That boy is always having something going on and Thobias ends up doing something he probably shouldn't. Are Cat and Ion going to be there?" Because that was an important consideration when choosing whether or not to let their children do anything. Parental supervision was key.
"I know you do." He'd begun noticing girls and had a small crush on one in particular but had never said anything or attempted to get it to go anywhere. Things were just weird when that happened. "Are you serious? I can't just do it on command, you know..."

"I'm surprised they haven't tried to bail yet," Donovan commented as he stole a cookie from Kara's plate.
If it where him he would be finding the nearest escape exit, but Donovan never liked parties like these growing up so this was normal to him. He looked around and realized this party was still pretty... empty.
"Donovan... not everyone was like you as a child," Kara murmured.
Even though she didn't know what he was like as a child, for all she knew he was probably a hellion as a kid.
"So you'll let them go?" Donovan inquired to Samantha.

They were a bit late, but still late is always better than never, right? Japi trotted up to the door and cracked it open, wanting to make sure it was the right place before she barged in.
Lilly and Addy were behind her, both in relatively good moods, though with Addy's current mood swings, anything could happen.
Japi saw through the door that the girls' friends Tobi and Lici were there at the party, along with their parents. There were other people she hadn't met too.
"Come on girls," she said in an excited voice.
Their mother was going to have more fun here than both of them combined. But Addy didn't care either way. She was carrying the pies her mother had baked. There were three; pumpkin, apple and cherry.
Lilly smiled at her sister, but Addy didn't smile back. She was used to it. Lilly shifted the bag on her arm. Two half-gallon containers of vanilla ice cream were stacked on top of each other inside the bag.
Lithanus brought up the rear. He'd brought the gifts from the car. There were four nicely wrapped presents in his arms, each of a different size and color. He followed the rest of his family inside the door and immediately went to lay the gifts under the tree in the corner. He wasn't one to hold things for very long.
He laughed inwardly at the woman and two girls he loved most in the world. Even though Addy would be loath to admit it, Christmas was the favorite holiday of all three.
