I used to be really crazy about jazz and hip hop. (Don't worry, I still am.) But now I have a greater appreciation for ballet and pointe. Ballet is the core of technique for all dancing! In all types of dance, you will still find pirouettes (I hope I spelled that right...) and all kinds of steps.
Ballet is all about inner strength.. It's not simply girls prancing around in pink tutus! We make ballet seem like the easiest thing, but our job is to hide our pain and make our movements delicate. Every detail counts.
Toes pointed... turned out... head up... SPOT!!!
And pointe! Don't even get me started with pointe. As much as it kills my feet, I admire all of you who are pointe dancers. Ballet is a beautiful thing. ^^
(wow, that was a long rant. ha, sry) XD
Anyway, who here is also a ballet dancer? I don't care if you hate it or love it!

o cool i do it 5 days a week every week and i LOVE tap and jazz but ballet is ok but thats the main dance but tap jazz and hip hop r my fave

I am a ballet dancer and point dancer. That is the only style of dance i do. lol i take dance 5 days a week (2 ballet, 4 point) but yes my heel was bleeding yesterday after point...it is so painful O_O heheh...i am also just got the role of alice in my dance schools production of alice in wonderland ^_^ i am also a flower, snowflake, and i am in the party scene of the nutcracker 3nodding

I'm a ballet dancer as well. I have class 4 days a week. I also help instruct the 4-6 year olds and 7-9 year olds classes.
Omg, I love alice in wonderland as a ballet. My dance company recently did that and I was the Caterpillar. We also do nutcracker every christmas and I'm always the prince. For that and other reasons I really hate the nutcracker. This year though I also got cast as arabian which is pretty exciting.
