I know I haven't been on in a long time but I really need help and I thought back to this place, heh... I went to A-Kon this year (09) and had my entire head, face, neck, and some of my collar bone painted for a costume so no skin was shown. However the body paint I had cracked really fast after about a hour but I saw some folks there wearing paint that didn't seem bothered at all with time and no matter what facial expressions they made. At first mine was fine but when I would smile the stuff would crack really bad or try and peel away. I was wandering if anyone here has any suggestions in what type of body paint to buy, what to use, or generally how to avoid cracking paint (mine was some oil based stuff so sweat didn't bother it) cause I'm doing the same thing next but I don't want to constantly run to the bathroom again to reapply stuff. If you need pictures of what I was to understand what I mean I'll gladly post if requested.

Body paint!?! Blech!
Greasepaint makeup is the way to go, especially on the face. It's fairly easy to mix a custom color, it doesn't crack, and it doesn't utterly seal your skin underneath it.
My favorite brands are Graftobian and Ben Nye. If the former isn't available where you are, the latter should be.
Make sure you pick up a colorless powder to finish it, though, otherwise it will look shiny and it will run easily when you sweat. Powder prevents that like a charm. Put your makeup on, then poof some powder right on over it and keep flapping away with the poof until you can't see the powder any more.

I <3 Ben Nye. Graftobian is good too. Kryolan is another great brand, but they're pretty pricey.
