Wind and sand did its job to whip around his respective areas; wind for the face and sands for his flashing hooves and legs. The salty air of the sea was more than enough to get Aitumn's blood flowing despite the chilly n** of winter. To say the least Aitumn liked the winter season just about as much as he did getting a mouth full of sea water and rotten, bitter berries. To him there was practically nothing worse than the cold season, and he found that actual movement and keeping himself constantly active was the only remedy for being cold.
So with this in mind, the blood bay stallion had decided today was a good day for some training. Just what type of training? Combat of course. Just about the only kind of training he had been putting himself through since their last run in with Zak, especially since his family was still too young to effectively protect themselves. Well, Tucker might be able to, after all he had grown into a fine stallion, but he was certain the girls and their newest brood was much too young for anything like that. So, in order to protect them, Aitumn sought to strengthen his body and the knowledge of how to use it in combat. Thus far, it had gone pretty well... not to mention it was also useful in keeping him warm for the winter.
Satsified with the round of mock sparring and general roudiness he had been displaying in the sands, Aitumn halted and blew a rough, deep breath from his chest to calm himself. That was the end of the session, he concluded. For a moment he stood there, sleek head held high and ears perked in what could be seen as alertness. His spirits were still high, but his breathes were coming in deep and quick for the moment. He supposed he should be heading back to Cress soon...

Large hooves left prints in the wet sand and wind pushed the ocean's spray onto the coast. This spray was cold, but even so, it was refreshing, Dimitri thought, and it kept him alert at the very least. His mind was blank as he walked along the wet sand, close to where the waves ebbed back and forth. The occasional crest managed to envelop the hooves closest to the edge as if they were trying to pull him in entirely, but it would take much more than that to drag the 18h2" Aeri into the caress of the ocean.
After manoeuvring around a particularly rocky area, Dimitri made it to a wider expanse of clean sand, and a ways up ahead, he could see a stallion doing some sort of... routine... He took a few more trotting steps closer before stopping, still a ways away. He brought his head up and watched the dark stallion kicking here, and like that. It was an odd thing to watch, everything looked so controlled and... strong. Not wanting to interrupt this Jala in his actions, Dimitri stood there quietly studying his movements and making mental notes of some of the useful-looking ones. He didn't know if he would be able to do any of that with the grace that the bay possessed, but he figured that in a lone glade somewhere, one day soon, he might even try some of it, just to see if he could do it. Though, being so big, he wouldn't be surprised if it was beyond him.

The longer he stood still the more chilled he felt, and that wasn't exactly a pleasant feeling for the jala stallion. To counteract the cold, his feathered wings shifted after his sides often in an attempt to warm himself. Once his breathing had returned to normal, the blood bay stallion turned in the direction for 'home', or rather what he and his family considered home. Quirne had been many things to him in the past: interesting, beautiful, and strange. Back then he wouldn't have imagined calling this place home, but now it just felt right. He wasn't entirely sure why though.
With a flick of his long midnight tail, Aitumn set off at a steady trot, and had take several lengthy strides before a figure came into view. Interesting. He hadn't been aware of anyone in the area when he had first started with his exercise, but he wasn't opposed to sharring the beach either. As he drew closer he observed the large Aeri stallion, and pricked his ears in its direction. He was still feeling somewhat spirited from his routine, but his gestures and movement were relatively open as he approached.

The other stallion stopped his routine and began working out his wings, from what Dimitri figured was the draft of cold wind coming in from the water. Hell, were he not such a big Aeri, he'd probably be cold too. But when the Jala began in his direction, Dimitri suddenly felt awkward and realized he should have said something earlier instead of just staring. So, he began a trot of his own to meet the stranger, if a little cautiously.
Ears also forward, eyes trained on the other's movements, the Aeri wasn't sure whether this bay was friendly or not, and having seen that routine, he wasn't sure he'd be able to react quickly enough if he needed to, but he knew that at the very least, he'd probably still be able to use his size to his advantage should this Jala become a problem. But, for now, he didn't see any reason to be rude, and so called out a greeting, "Hello! Sorry for not introducing myself earlier... didn't wanna interrupt. I'm Dimitri," he said as his wings stretched out and caught the wind a little, bringing him just barely into the air, to land with a bit of a tremor through the sand when he stopped. He may have stretched out his wings as an intimidation to the smaller, but swifter male, just in case there should be any debate in his mind over confrontation.

At the greeting, one could see the blood bay's taunt muscles visably relax. Well, it was good to know the other's intentions, other than starring of course. "Greetings", he called back, eyeing the display of wings as the larger stallion crashed back to the ground. The tremor was not lost on the blood bay, but he did not flinch nor shy away at that matter. Certainly this aeri was a formidable foe with sheer size alone considered, but Aitumn fancied himself a fair fighter all things considered, and would pull through if this fellow meant to fight. Though he wouldn't be too hasty in his judgements, it was pretty apparent the aeri held no intentions to start a fight with how he had thrown a greeting out so openly. Aitumn came to a halt a respectible distance away, head still held on its high arch, as hollow-looking eyes instantly drawn to the black bones on the aeri's back. Well, now those looked familar, now didn't they?
"Well met Dimitri, my name's Aitumn. And I appreciate you having decided not to interrupt me at the time." Despite how the jala held himself, his body language was non-threatening, and held no visable intention of wishing the other harm on any of his features. Back to the bones though. There was only one other nequus he knew of to carry bones on his back and wear a skull on his head. Ironic how they were both aeri's. Perhaps this stallion knew Lucius? Either way, it would be something worth bringing up after pleasantries were taken care of. "Enjoying the beach, I take it?"

The green Aeri also relaxed when he saw the Jala calm and release his tensed muscles. He wasn't about to start a fight, but he always went into a situation prepared, if he could, anyway. Having established greetings, Dimitri bowed his head in response to the sharing of names. He shook his wings once, downwards so as not to blow wind at the Jala, and then settled them back into place along his sides.
He looked around at the mention of 'beach', and then looked back at Aitumn with a grin, "I guess you could say that. I mean... as much as one can enjoy the beach during the winter..." A soft laugh escaped him, warm in a way. "But you don't seem to be particularly enjoying the beach..." On another thought, he threw out a suggestion, "If you were on your way somewhere, we could walk...? I don't want to hold you back if you have somewhere to be..." Dimitri nodded in the direction the Jala had been going before they introduced themselves. "Unless of course... I would be intruding...?"
