σηcє υpση α τίмє . . .  . . . In a far away Kingdom there lived a Prince. He was born a weak child so his parents dotted on him from the time he could walk. They fretted over him as if stepping wrong would kill the poor boy. As you can imagine, this irked the young child quite a great deal. Being the mischievous boy he was - sick, weak, and what not! - he still managed to scramble out of his Nurse Maid's hands and sneak about the castle for hours a a time until he was finally captured by one of the servants. This was not a big concern for the Queen and King of Aeserila as, even though their son was weak, there weren't many dangers lurking in the castle halls.
How wrong they were.
The little Prince - in one of his escapee trysts - suddenly found he couldn't breath and that there was no one around to help him. Had another servant boy not found him in time, the Prince surely would've died. Ever since this incident, the Prince was not allowed anywhere without someone to tag along. If he even thought about running off, the severe punishment set in place detoured him. After all, sitting in a dark room all by himself for an hour was quite traumatizing for a young boy. However, when the Prince grew to be too much for his Nurse Maids to handle at the ripe age of sixteen the King and Queen assigned him a Bodyguard.
The Prince's Bodyguard was a strange man of little emotions from a small Kingdom to the south. He was a great deal older than the Prince, but the Prince still found he rather liked his Bodyguard's company even though the man was awfully intimidating. At least he was better than those darn nagging Nurse Maids! As the years wore on, the Prince became stronger and stronger, not at all mirroring the weak child he once was. He'd befriended his Bodyguard and now saw him as a close friend who he held in high regard. Still... the man held many secrets the Prince wished to know.
You see, his Bodyguard always disappeared to a place the Prince knew not of after he was dismissed. Truly curious, the Prince decided to follow his Bodyguard one day. To his surprise, it was the Rose Garden he was lead to. This surprised the Prince for he never thought his Bodyguard would enjoy something so ... simple. Hiding behind one of the rose bushes, the Prince tried his best to get a better view of who his precious friend was gazing at to discover...
It was the Gardner - the very young Gardner that had just taken over for his recently ill father. After watching his Bodyguard watch the other, petite man for a while longer the Prince grew impatient and was about to announce his presence when something odd happened. His Bodyguard walked right up to the Gardner and after what seemed like a few, harsh words, picked a rose only to crush it. With that, he stalked off. This puzzled the Prince, as he'd never seen his Bodyguard be outright mean to anyone. With this on his mind, the Prince left the garden.
The incident was all but forgotten until someone peculiar arrived in court; The Duke of Reay. After formalities, he walked straight up to the Prince's Bodyguard and smiled gently in greeting and addressed the man as "Brother". Shocked by this revelation, the Bodyguard asks the Prince and The Duke of Reay to keep his heritage a secret. The Duke of Reay agreed, but only on the condition that he stays as a guest of the Aeserila court. The Prince agreed in the haze of this new information about his friend.
However, that was when the trouble really started. As it would seem, The Duke of Reay was somewhat of a charmer - and his next target? The Prince of Aeserila. Now, while the Prince is busy trying to reject the Duke of Reay's advances, he's no time to question the odd relationship between his Bodyguard and the Gardener.
All those answers lie within the Rose Garden . . .
