You have been selected. Are you proud? scared?

Just what awaits you?

Being the chosen one has never been easy, as history always seems to have a knack for hinting.

"Come, now, don't be shy. This is a wonderful honor."

Zinaida beckons you into the dark room in the back of the Catori HQ. Her voice is warm, inviting. You follow her request and step into the room, and the door closes behind you.

The girl lights several candles, washing the space in soft yellow light. A circle of an unknown blue and silver gas-like substance is illuminated on the floor.

"Come now, the ritual cannot start without you."

Nemora glances at the glowing gasious circle. Her pulse is a tad higher than normal, a mixture of excitement and fear of the unknown. She had taken this on in her desire to adopt, but being one to never do things in the "conventional" manner, here she was in a room for ritual about to have a child summoned.

Am I nuts? Korina certainly thought so and had told Nemora as she'd left the house that morning. Nemora takes a deep breath to calm herself. She was doing the right thing. She knew it.

Amadis didn't really jump when the door shut behind her, she didn't recognize anyone here. Though that was just the type of person Amadis is, you jump in and generally asked questions later. A wonderful honor, hm? She'd just see about that. Whatever this was. All she knew she was summoned to for a 'special ritual'.

The short woman wrinkled her nose as she attempted to bury the skeptical thoughts that suddenly clouded her mind. Her subconcious beat back the darker version of her self and locked it in a deep mental cave in hopes it wouldn't show it's face until everything was over. She spoke not a word, not even to the person that bid them to come in, and not to the woman she had stepped next to.

Though, circle thing was kinda neat and the atmosphere was quite relaxing ..

Her mind happily ambled off in it's distracting tangents though she seemed to be and was quite hopefully paying attention. Whatever the one before them would say her mind would likely pounce on it like a puppy, always happy to have new information and things to play with.

"It's good you both are here." Zinaida smiled briefly at both of them, and finished making the preparations.

"I believe you know just what time it is. Please, step into the circle. Don't be afraid."

She took a book from a nearby shelf into her hands and cracked it open, flipping to a particularly aged-looking page.

Nemora trusted Zinaida; though she wasn't completely clear on the woman's reasons for doing this, she felt they were sincere and honest. She would not lead me astray. She glanced down at the other woman before taking an apparently confident step into the glowing misty-gas.

Apparently confident because she still wasn't feeling all that confident. Am I really ready for this? Again, she remembered Korina. "If you're having doubts, then you're not ready." Well what did she know! She wasn't Nemora's nanny, she was her financial advisor and caretaker of the Llaerihn Estate.

Step into the circle? She could most definately do that!

When it came to stepping in a circle she was a pro, but then again it was hard to screw up stepping into a circle unless it was lined with sand or something you can't muss up for a summoning.

Amadis seemed unquestioning, and even if this lead to her sudden demise she'd probably grin at the face of death. It had been one of the things about her she could not quell not that she wanted to. Being afraid seemed to put a damper on many things.

"Why wouldn't I be here?" she cheerfully responded to Zinaida and then she offically stepped into the circle without much further ado.

The question to the answer posed was simple. It would be fear of the unknown. Which she apparently lacked. Also this made her insanely curious so of course she came!

"Yes...why, indeed." Zinaida replied thoughtfully, scratching her head in Amadis' direction before quickly averting her eyes back to the wording inscribed on the battered pages of the book.

"Alright, ready?" She shut the ancient text and set it aside once more, taking a deep breath. The purple-haired youth took no time to allow the two time for an answer. She kneeled down before the circle, closed her eyes, and began chanting in a low, slow voice, steadily increasing in speed and volume as she finished each line of the incantation.

Faint white mist slowly rose from both Nemora and Amadis, and at the same time, began to combine with the blue and silver gas already swirling around them.

Nemora wondered if she should hold her breath or anything. Sure, the gas didn't look dangerous, but gentler looking things had been fairly dangerous in her past experiences. She shifted her eyes to the other without turning her head, trying to gage that woman's reactions.

As Zinaida got faster and louder, Nemora's anxiety rose. What if she made a mistake, talking so fast like that? Did she really need to get louder? It didn't help matters that the language was foreign to Nemora, giving it an eerie feel and leaving her quite confused.

It'll be all right, don't sweat it... She glanced down at the smoke and mist every now and then, as though checking its progress every couple of seconds.

Amadis grinned haplessly at Zinaida and then watched what would happen next. She watched as Zin knelt and then began to do her thing. Instead of fear Amadis seemed quite delighted and amused. This was the most entertainment and excitement she had in weeks.

Though the woman was getting a bit loud for her tastes, but the white mist seeping in made up for it in volumes. Amadis kept her hands firmly at her side as she watched the event going on right around her and resisted the child-like urge to clap and cheer. Yet another inappropriate thing her subconcious had to beat back and lock away next to the darker mentality she had locked up just earlier. Thus rendered neutral she managed control, though it was hard to maintain that with everything that was going on.

The band of gases widened and thinned, heightened and shortened, and in a sudden flash, exploded in such a manner it enveloped the room with light blue fog.

Though hidden by the mist, Zinaida stood up and stopped chanting the incantation.

"Welcome..." she said quietly, with an odd hint of pride in her voice.

The haze began to thin, and eventually dissapeared entirely.

Two small boys sat in the center of where the circle had once been.

((Soyokaze changes to This color.))

Nemora let out a short exclimation of shock and brought her hands up to her face to shield her eyes from the sudden flare. She heard Zinaida speaking, but was still too flustered to even know what the woman said. As things began to clear out, Nemora peeked out from behind one hand while lowering the other.

She heard a gleeful giggle and glanced down, far down. There, in the center, two small boys. When one looked up at her with two-toned eyes, she knew. She bent her knees and opened her arms to him. Soyokaze, a trusting and playful lad, pushed himself up and hobbled over toward her.

"'ewwo," he said, bringing his hand up to his mouth and fingering his lip, making his speach sound funny. Nemora was speachles. He'd gotten close enough that she could pull him toward herself, and she hugged him close.

His responce was to giggle yet again, and exclaim, "You're funny!"

Amadis shut her eyes and turned away. Not out of fear but out of what she felt was a perfectly logical reaction. She stayed like that for a good moment before voices and sounds made her look again, but coincidentally toward the front and down.

She was checking to see if that circle was still there...Instead there was this child.

Amadis squinted at the boy, who took it upon himself to squint back at her.

"Well then." She spoke at him as if he could understand, and he likely did. Amadis knelt down to his level. It felt good to have someone shorter than her for a change. Chances were it wouldn't last, "Guess you are why I came."

The babe said nothing and just stared at her expectantly, when she didn't reach to take him he simply reached up his own hands and made a grasping motion with his fingertips. It took her a moment to take the hint before she reached over and picked up the child and held him to her.

He had hair like her own, and so surely this is her child. What do most mothers do with a child? They name it, "Hello, Akule."

Akule grinned as if the name pleased him.
