Introduction

For centuries, the four great kingdoms, Themron, Blythe, Gamberyl, and Agnilar, have lived in harmony. Gamberyl, to the south, was the greatest kingdom. They were protected by their goddess who took the form of a passionate phoenix. Themron, to the east, was the second greatest kingdom. They were protected by their god who took the form of a mighty dragon. Agnilar, to the west, and Blythe, to the north, are the two smaller kingdoms. Agnilar was protected by their god who took the form of the agile white tiger. Blythe was protected by their goddess who took the form of the wise tortoise. All together, these four nations shared one common shrine in unclaimed land in the center of the kingdoms. That shrine represented life as a whole and was known as The Shrine of Kirin, a beast which reflected each of the other four deities..

However, all good things must come to an end. Themron’s king fell ill and laid dieing in his chambers, The old man coughed as the door slowly opened and the face of his only begotten son appeared. The king told his son that he would soon have to take the throne. This meant that his engagement to the princess from Gamberyl would have to be pushed forward. The prince nodded and soon bid his father farewell as he traveled south with his men to retrieve his bride.

Upon reaching Gamberyl, the prince and his men were greeted at the palace with open arms. A large feast was held in their honor. The next day, the princess packed her things and bid her family farewell. It was off to Themron for her, and there, she would become queen as her parents had planned for her so many years before.

It was nearly a month after that when the sickly king passed on. To the princess’s surprise, her new husband did not seem to grieve at all for the loss of his father. As the weeks continued on, the young new queen began to feel that there was something amiss in her new life. She rarely saw her husband, not even at meals or sometimes even at night. When she questioned him, he became annoyed with her. His annoyance became more and more severe as more time went by. Finally, the new queen discovered why her husband was so preoccupied.

The former prince had always been described as ambitious, but it seemed the new title as King of Themron only fed his ego, and its appetite was growing. He planned on attacking the small kingdom of Agnilar and placing lords there to govern over their people. When she protested to this, the new king became violent. Over the next few weeks, the new queen’s freedoms slowly dwindled away. She was no longer allowed to sleep in the royal bed chambers and was quickly relocated to a smaller room which locked from the outside. The only ones with access to that room were the king and his right hand man.

Since the king was too preoccupied with his plans to conquer neighboring lands, he often did not visit his prisoner of a wife. Instead, he left his most trusted friend and leader of his guard, his right hand man, to tend to her. It didn’t take long for the leader of the guard to take pity on the young distraught woman. He visited her often and soon developed feelings for her, yet he could not act upon them out of his duty for his king. What he did do was allow the young queen to write a letter to her family back in Gamberyl and smuggle it out of the palace for her.

When the king of Gamberyl received the letter from his daughter, he became furious. He quickly sent word to Agnilar about the new king’s plans. Because of the king’s treatment of his only daughter, the king pledged allegiance to Agnilar. He also began planning on rescuing his daughter. However, his men were caught before they even reached the palace. The king of Themron grinned and used this to his advantage. He sent word to the final kingdom, Blythe, pleading for them to assist him. He said that Gamberyl was becoming a threat to the peace of their nations and Blythe agreed to come to Themron’s aide.

Now the great kingdoms are preparing for war, evenly divided. The troops are being gathered and all of the people are talking. Will the war be too much for the great kingdoms to handle, or will things get bad enough for the deities to return to the land to restore the peace? At this point, the future is so clouded, not even the best of the best seers can begin to peer past the fog.

Special Notes

Mini-Map
Blythe
|
Agnilar - Shrine of Kirin- Themron
|
Gamberyl

• This RP is set to a medieval / fantasy setting. No guns or anything like that yet!
• Your character CAN be something other than human. Although for this RP I request no nekos/kitsune characters. If you want to be a human that is part animal, you're going to have to go the whole nine yards. So you want to be a cat girl? Well then your cat ears will be where your human ears should have been, you'll have whiskers and claws and your body will be covered in fur! (okay, maybe a light fuzz instead of fur). Oh, and you'll have the slit nose and everything.
• In addition to the last note, no half-body animals like Nagas or Centaurs. If you want a half animal character, they have humanoid bodies and as many animal characteristics they can have before looking like an animal in human clothes.
• There will be fighting in this RP. For now, I'm going to let you guys handle it, but if people start to argue over this and that, then I may implement a dice system or something.
• Character profiles are NOT required for this RP! However, if you would like to post one, there will be a thread below linked where you can do so -nod-
• I DO ask though that you at least find some sort of reference picture for your character. It's not required but it is very much preferred.

Character Positions

Key:
Gamberyl: Dark Red | Agnilar: Dark Goldenrod | Themron: Green | Blythe: Dark Blue
[These assigned colors are also the color of the kingdom flags and whatnot]

Character Position [#Max] : User; User; User

The positions specific to each kingdom will be divided up into their own catagories, but there are also positions each kingdom can have. Those extra positions will all be on one list and color organized. The #Max in those extra positions refers to the colors. For example:

Blacksmith [2] : User; User; User; User;

This means each kingdom is allowed two blacksmith characters. The colors mean that Gamberyl has two, but there are two openings in Agnilar and one opening in both Themron and Blythe.

If the position has no number to is, then there is only one available. If they have an x where the number should be, it means there can be any number of that position.
