I was in the Q & F forum and they had a topic talking about it. Alot of people plan on not wearing their normal outfits and being naked like a newb for a day. They say its so that older members won't think that they are superior because they own better clothes than others. Have you heard about it? If so do you plan to participate or not?

I'm still not sure if I want to. But I don't think I will. I earned all my items, and eventually the newbies will too. It's a part of Gaia. In response some people are doing a: Wear as Many Layers and Possible Day. That's gonna be funny to see all the flaming going on. 3nodding

I am not participating in either event- I've even heard there is a "Dress Like a Schmo" day, where avatars wear "normal" clothing. Ech.

That's my opinion at any rate. But I can understand why some would support Nakie day. So it's not like I get angry of think people are stupid for supporting it.
It's funny, I've had people saying I'm a N00b because I don't support it.

I'm confused as to just how wanting everyone to strip is in any way a plot to make people feel guilty. Even more confused as to just how protesting it by wearing as many layers as possible makes people NOT elitist, because it's an attempt to exclude the Nakies from the Cool People.

I don't remember who, but they plan to wear as many items on their head as possible.

Nah, I'm celebrating the Liberitarion Distopia of Finalrain's Room's Absurdly Overdress Your Avatar Day under the actual intelligent reason that the problem with Gaia is that it wasn't by natural designed for preteens and teenagers. The content of this site, ie the forums, were designed for mature young adults with a knowledge base on subject matter. The problems is that the younger people don't fit into this and are therefore not ready to be involved in the conversations held on most of the forums. Therefore they create their own undereducated topics that just annoy the crap out of everybody. Now if you look at sports they don't have much of a problem because the younger crowd does have a decent knowledge base of sports.
But part of the bigger problem is that the admins are designing for and trying to attract a younger crowd for a forum that should and is mainly composed of older, wiser people.
Just like this news house idea. The older users don't particulary seem to care that much about it. Most of them are more interested in advances to the actual forum and ability to have more intelligent posting. While a younger crowd is more interested in the houses. The problem arises in the fact that the only way the younger crowd can earn gold to support these other features is through posting in the forum, something that is really not suited to them.
Therefore I've made the most expensive outfit I possibly can at this moment.
