obviously we all joined this guild to get recipes for quick and easy foods and ideas, but what is the one thing you hate about cooking?
for me its the dishes and clean up. I love the food and the experience of cooking, i just hate cleaning up after it.

The clean up, definitely. Especially when your recipe requires you to use several bowls and pans. Argh!

Cleaning up is quite a nuisance. However, it's a necessary evil. People forget that most cooking shows rarely show anyone cleaning up after themselves.

i think many people will agree that cleaning up is probably the worst thing about cooking

I think the part I dislike the most (because I don't absolutely hate any of it) is cleaning up and having things turn out not quite how I wanted them to.

I hate washing the dishes I've used in making my food. I don't mind putting away the food items I've used in cooking or baking.
I also hate getting burned while cooking. I move at time very quickly around the kitchen and I have a good chance of getting burned while touching a pot.

my least favorite part would probably be prep. i dont mind washing dishes so much. i actually find it kind of relaxing...

Same here. Dishes, clean up. Man, I make my family both happy and sad when I cook.

when whatever I make churn out to be inedible and disgusting. I tried to make okonomiyaki yesterday and today by following the recipe on the Visual Recipes website, and both times, my okonomiyaki tasted like disgusting batter even though I followed the directions. crying It was so nasty that I couldn't finish the whole thing and had to throw it away.
And I don't like the prepping, either.

Don't get me wrong, cleanup sucks, but for me the absolute worst thing about cooking a meal is trying to get the timing on everything just right. However, if you elect another person to assist you in the process, it sometimes helps. ^-^
