Prompt 3: Mother goes hunting and leaves you with your brothers, and Krushu starts to tell you and Ritesh a scary story. What is it? Or do you idtch them and follow mother?


Verniah: "Ok little ones I will be back in a while, I'm going hunting, please stay together and keep each other safe."
Krushu & Ritesh: Yes mom, we will"
Girl fox: "Yes mommy"

She takes off leaving the kits in the entrance of the den, the little girl turns to her brothers and says "So what are we going to do now?" Krushu says "Its time to tell a scary story, its a good one I promise. She looks at him and then at Ritesh, he looked really excited and already very into the idea. "Oh ok.." She wasn't sure, she moved closer into the den and sat next to Ritesh, and listened to Krushu as he started the story.

As the story continued on she started to get scared, she wasn't sure what to do, she considered going after her mother, she got up and left the den and was just outside the entrance. It was pitch black and she started to shake because she didn't know where her mother was. Her brothers still inside the den didn't even notice she had left. She was almost about to cry, she thought to her self that her mother wanted her to stay safe, so she went back inside and sat next to her brother again.

Even though it was scary, she said that it would be much better then venturing out into the pitch darkness after her mother where she would be most likely to get lost and cause her mother to worry about her. So she covered her ears and laid down trying not to listen until her mother got back.

That's alright. I just added the rule, so thee was no way you could have known. This does not affect earlier entries, they won't be counted against in the judging process C:

Prompt 2: You hear Krushu and Ritesh playing on the thin ice, where mother had forbade them to play. What do you do? Tell on them? Or go to investigate yourself? How does it feel being the only girl of the litter?
(( Since Geko doesn’t want Ritesh played, I’m leaving him out. Naming the girl Kala for the entry ))

Tired of playing in the cave alone while mother and Ritesh slept, Kala decided to go after her brother Krushu, who had snuck outside some time ago. Following his scent, she hurried through the soft snow, kicking up little bits that clumped on her black coat, the black coat of her father whom she’d never know.
Reaching the sounds of her brother’s laughter, she gasped when she realized where he was. “H-hey!” She hesitantly piped up, remembering her mother's warnings. “M-mom said to not play on the ice.”

Looking back at the surprise arrival of his sister, Krushu snorted. “Well, I haven’t fallen through yet. The ice is fine.”

Kala flattened her ears. How was she supposed to stand up to her brother? Even at this young age, she knew mother wouldn’t enforce much more than to pull the boy off the ice, only to turn around and probably have him go right back. Frowning, she placed her own paw on the ice. At the water’s edge, the ice was even thinner, and broke easily. She yelped and jumped back. “Come on, Krushu! Get offa there!” She whined. Ignored again, she felt something pull inside. In an absolute change she stood up, straightened her back, and stomped her foot to the ground. “Get off that ice before I make you!”

The boy turned in surprise, looking at the girl who was usually like their mother, small and meek. Yet, she had just… yelled? Simply out of shock, he carefully walked toward her, safely getting off the ice.

“That’s dangerous. You could fall through and get hurt. Then what would I do?” She scolded him, practically marching the humbled kit back to the cave.

Later, Kala wondered what had come over her. Was it because she was a girl? Maybe simply because she cared for her brother. Whatever it was, she decided that being a girl wasn’t so bad. Mother… she wasn’t sure, but Kala decided that she, as a female, did not need to stand back as the days went on. She could be strong.
