although so far, it is at the very basic stages... im mostly making notes and then seeing what happens from there. Notes - The main characters are both girls; Robyn McNeill, and Alli Ashdown - In some chapters, it will follow a Privateer; Michael Gifford, who has been hired to track the girls down and bring them to his client. A bounty hunter; Razell, is also hired, although neither the girls nor gifford know about his existence. He is hired to kill Gifford and the Girls - The girls come into ownership of a smugglers airship, the Skystream, it is a small twin-engine ship, with quarters for three crew. Gifford owns a small, fast single-crew airship; the Riptide, and Razell commads the Lustbourne, a vicious-looking single-man ship with blades running down the sides to sut open other ships. - To begin with, Robyn is living with her father. Her mother died whilst giving birth, and her father has raised her for the 18 years of her life. - Her life is turned upside down when pirates attack her city. They loot everything, including her manor. Her father is killed in the process, and she barely escapes into the burning streets. - Alli, a girl who is used to living in the undertown finds her in the streets, together they escape to the port, where they are taken on board by a sypathetic smuggler, the owner of the Skystream. SPOILER! - Gifford becomes one of the main characters about halfway through the book, and soon after becomes the love interest of Robyn. So, what do you guys think so far?

im still thinking of what else to do with it. i already have the main characters sorted, but i could do with some sub-characters, any ideas are much appreciated.
at the moment, i need a bio for the guy/gal who sends both Gifford and Razell after the girls, as well as a motive...
i also need a bio for the smuggler...
any other characters will be considered, so feel free to suggest characters,l events, town/city names, etc. please describe them all in a couple paragraphs though so i know roughly what your talking about

So... been messing with tektek today since i noticed GAIA had some items that look similar to what i imagine some of the characters to look like  Michael Gifford- I think this pretty much sums up how i imagine him to look in gaia form  Robyn McNeill- Finally decided on what she looks like. She is a shy 18 year old girl who escapes the burning city with Alli. unlike Alli, who has no worries about shooting someone if they are in danger, Robyn has never had to kill before, and doesn't want to start now. (hence no weapon on the Avi) she and Alli stand out in a crowd because of her scarf and Alli's bionic arm  Alli Ashdown- (some more character development here, i have decided that she knows how to handle a firearm, due to her having to survive on the streets, she also now has a bionic arm, reasons for which i am not sure yet)  Razell- The bounty-hunter. He is hired to kill Gifford and the girls. he is part of an ancient clan who ritually dye their skin dark as coal, and then inscribe runic tattoo's over their bodies to make them appear far scarier during war. he is one of the last, and sells his services to the highest bidder as a bounty hunter and assassin.  Smuggler- The as-yet unnamed but important smuggler. I have decided she should be dressed in fineries, with an exotic weapon, to emphasize the fact that she is an exotic traveller/smuggler from a distant land.  No idea who this is, i was designing a generic soldier and this guy came about. he seems to over-equipped to be a generic ranksman, so whats his story? who is he? any help is appreciated

Beautiful Propaganda fire - link No idea who this is, i was designing a generic soldier and this guy came about. he seems to over-equipped to be a generic ranksman, so whats his story? who is he? any help is appreciated Maybe he could be Robyn's father? He just strikes me that way.. sorry if that's no help haha. that would mean him dying very soon into the book... but maybe... also, im considering reversing the roles, so the main character is Alli. the book is seen more from her perspective than Robyns then. the reason for this is that having it follow the rich scared girl seems a little... boring... instead i want to have it follow the Streetwise girl, who has longed for a life of adventure. she can help Robyn become more confident as the story goes... also, Gifford and Alli seem a better match too... hell, i may decide to completely remove Robyn from the story... hmm...

It might make an interesting story, or you could alternate chapters [first for Alli, second for Robyn, third for Alli, etc].

It might make an interesting story, or you could alternate chapters [first for Alli, second for Robyn, third for Alli, etc]. hmm... good point. though theres still some kinks i need to work through to make sure this works (character development, etc) still, what about the other characters, like the smuggler... anyone got any ideas for a biography, etc?

i have now added robyn to the avatar list... i finally decided what i want her to look like for most of the book (although at the start, she will have more expensive clothes, they get ruined in the escape from the city, so Alli gets her some more shortly after...)
