Well I was browsing you tube, listening to random FF music remixes, when I stumbled upon something better than a remix: the Battle and Boss music from FF13! I'm not sure of the details of its released, but you've GOT to listen to it! Its EPIC! It pwns all the other musics like Sephiroth did to Zack if FF7 (even my personal faves, like the FF7 Battle Theme, Man with the Machine Gun, and FF3 Boss Theme)!
Course if you want to wait till its released, by all means, go ahead. But hey, just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

I'm a huge video game music collector (I have 634 Final Fantasy songs alone) so I was immediatly drawn to anything that had to do with FF music. I remenber watching one of the trailers and hearing the battle music (I didn't know it was the battle music then). I fell in love with it right there. The strength of the electric bass and the beauty of the violin, perfectly portrays the battle style (fast-paced, but very clean) and even what I know about Lightning (graceful, yet lethal). Oh and then I found out that the official soundtrack comes out on my birthday! (January 27) As a music collector, that fact was as exciting as finding out that a main series game comes out on my birthday.

If you're talking about having them *coughlegallycough* then you totally win. ninja Congratulations on the whole birthday thing! Stuff for me always tends to come out right after my birthday. Alas...

Stuff for me always tends to come out right after my birthday. Alas... Omigosh it's so awesome to finally meet another video game music collector! Most of my friends think I'm a little bit crazy, but there's something about listening to VG music and letting the emotions of the song and story wash over you. I've got about 1500 songs in all, spannning across multiple games like Sonic, Smash Brothers, Zelda, and Animal Crossing. (wo wait why do I have Animal Crossing? I obviously have not not gone through my Itunes in a long time...) But yeah...they aren't totally *coughlegalcough*. My excuse is that I only get soundtracks from games that I've bought and have made a contribution to and besides most companies get so much money for the game alone, so its not like they're living on the revenue from the soundtrack. (oh geez I'm probably gonna be picked up for saying that... sweatdrop ). Oh yeah and this is the first time something has happened on my birthday...Jan. 27 is a really out-there date. The only thing that falls on that day are my school's semester exams. It happens every year xp

Niceeee! I have more Final Fantasy than anything else, but it adds up to... 2090. Most of the rest is Tales games, then Kingdom Hearts. Let's see, then there's .hack//G.U., Castlevania, The World Ends with You, The Legend of Dragoon, Battle Arena Toshinden... Eh, a lot. xd
That's a nice way to think about it legally, I think! My thinking is that if I didn't download it, I wouldn't have the money to buy it anyway, so it's not helping the companies either way, so it doesn't matter. I still feel pretty bad about it, though. sweatdrop
Agh, that sucks!

Well I get most of all of my songs legally, hooray for supporting S-E!
...Unfortunately, I buy off Amazon, and almost every single Square soundtrack I've bought turns out to be a pirated version. Trust me, I've bought so many that I can tell now. So, the way I see it, I'm not helping Square at all. Except now I'm paying for it. Boo.
As for the songs, meh. They are pretty nice, but I didn't feel like I did when I heard various other battle songs (i.e. Dancing Mad).
Of course, as is with most video game music, I'm sure the magic will come to me when I hear these songs in the game itself. Then I'll like it more, probably.

I've never gotten anything pirated from Amazon though, and I usually go looking for one-dollar anime DVDs and stuff. If that's the case with you though, I'd suggest buying elsewhere. sweatdrop I'm not listening to XIII's until I play the game. I think it ruins the effect otherwise. wink
