"The clever young engineer, Fever Crumb, is swept up in a race to build a flying machine. Her mysterious companion is a boy who talks to Angels. Powerful enemies will kill to poses their new technology-or to destroy it.

A Web of Air is the thrilling sequel to Fever Crumb, the story set centuries before Mortal Engies that tells how great cities begin to build giant engines to make their first predatory journeys across the wastelands."

the sequel to Fever Crumb, A Web Of Air is the sequel to the prequel... if that makes any sense...

either way, it is set after Fever Crumb, but still before Mortal Engines.

also, quoted from Philip Reeve's blog:
Quote:

I'm told that I've announced there are to be four books about Fever, but I think what I really said was that there will have to be at least four, so that they would balance the original quartet on an imaginary seesaw. As long as people keep reading them there's no reason why there shouldn't be fourteen. Or fourty. Or four hundr... well, I suppose I'll have to draw the line somewhere.

good, looks like an amazing series is here to stay, and hopefully he will return to the originals sometime too. maybe following Anna Fang, or Shrike
