I thought this thread would be handy since we are all in this Guild not just become we love Evanescence, but because we love the style of music. I personally concider it symphonic metal.
Post other bands that you like that you believe others would enjoy.
1. Nightwish 2. Within Temptation 3. Eyes of Eden 4. Epica 5. Sonata Arctica 6. Apocalyptica 6. Sirenia 7. After Forever 8. Tristania 8. Solstice 9. Noctura 10. Sick Puppy 11. Linkin Park 12. Plumb 13. Flyleaf 13. HIM

Plumb, Flyleaf, and Linkin Park are all really good bands that are similar to Evanescence.
There's this online radio station, Pandora that if you type in a band or song, it will give you other songs that are similar. It's all free, and I love it. I use it just about every day. It's completely free, but if you want to, you can buy the songs; you don't have to-but you can. You can have all these different stations; I love it!! Oh, if you go on their long enough, you have to create an account, supply your email, but you don't get any spam, or anything. I recommend it to anyone who is wanting to find similar artists.

Noctura: A band with a vocalist that sounds creepily similar to Amy. They also use strings, guitars, choirs, etc. The singer also loves Evanescence and has even covered a few songs. Solstice: Amy's little sister, Lori Lee, has band. She doesn't sound like Amy but her voice is really good, and their live performances are way better. +++

She doesn't sound like Amy but her voice is really good, and their live performances are way better. +++ Oh yeah I forgot about Noctura!!! They are increadibly simiilar to Evanescence, just a little more music and less vocals I think. Too bad they are not big yet. sad I never heard of Solstice. I shall youtube them now lol >.<

Does everyone that listens to Ev listen to symphonic metal though? I know that since I've listened to Ev, my tastes have definately become more either electronic or acoustic based. So, I guess my question is for whether or not the suggested music in this thread has to be symphonic metal or just other good bands?

So, I guess my question is for whether or not the suggested music in this thread has to be symphonic metal or just other good bands? It doesn't have to be, HIM and Flyfleaf are not symphonic metal. That is just what I personally concider them. They have several styles blended in but overall thats my opinion of their classification of music.

Skillet is also a great band. Some of Three Days Grace, umn others? Just now listening to Noctora for the first time & am loving it. Don't shoot me, but i find opera in general to be amazing. Especially Phantom of the Opera (the main theme, Music of the Night, & All i ask of You).
Also, can you only purchase Noctura songs online? Are they not officially out in the "real world?"
