Well scientists are beginning to suspect something, they did a test on mice. And in this test, they started with a small amount of mice and slowly began introducing more and more.
Well before there was a little homosexuality rate. (yep, they found homosexual tendencies in many species. And actually giraffes 9 out of 10 times their mating is between two males. So giraffes are more gay then straight.. XD)
And as they introduced more numbers in there, the percentages when up. Not the number, but as the numbers increased the rate of homosexual behavior increased as well.. Like say the number went from 100 mice to 1,000 mice. Well the amount of homosexual mating was like 5% but as mice got up to 1,000, the percent was about 25%
so it seems that homosexuality could actually be an instinctive switch that turns on when a species begins to overpopulate.
What do you guys think? this actually makes quite a bit of sense to me. XD

what about species that lay eggs V.v well i doubt it has anything to do with instinct its only natural that the numbers of homosexuals would increase as the number went up O.o

pokemonmon what about species that lay eggs V.v well i doubt it has anything to do with instinct its only natural that the numbers of homosexuals would increase as the number went up O.o
Well i mean the percentage itself increases. So a larger percentage of people are homosexual the higher the numbers are. So rather then say 5% its 30%.

So is that the reason so many people are coming out the closet recently?
or is it due to there being more people being openly gay that more people come out the closet?

Well, i think that it has to do with a great number of things. Some of it is confusion, people looking at a person of the same gender, liking it and assume their gay. Its become much more socially acceptable so people are more comfortable to come out. and perhaps it is an instinctive sort of things as well.. I can't be sure.. None of these really influenced me too much for when I came out. But there is a lot of confusion in this day and age.

I don't think it works like that.
There was probably a higher homosexuality rate just because there were less organized in such a large population.
Dogs are able to "have sex" with their same gender if uncontrolled,I dont think mice are more organized than that.
Also,in the human race,the homosexuality percentage depends on culture.
In ancient tribes,it was considered a normal thing,and even in Greece,it was something noble.
So no,this theory doesn't work for me at all.

You may be on to something. But environmental factors, such as a wider acceptance of homosexuality in general, cannot be ignored.
I have often wondered if my desire to not have children, and the seeming increasing desire for a child-free life among others, is not some population curbing measure too. But obviously that is influenced by other factors, such as the widening education of women (studies have shown that the more educated a woman, the less likely she is to have a large family), more ready access to contraception etc

The Prowny I don't think it works like that. There was probably a higher homosexuality rate just because there were less organized in such a large population. Also, there are just too many factors to say for sure what the reason is. I think it's way too soon in their experiment to be drawing any conclusions.
