It was the time of morning when the lands were still quiet except for the occasional chirp of a bird, or the stirring of a dozing animal. And as far as Rahim could tell, no one was up yet. He lay in his spot away from everyone else, his paws pulled close to his scrawny body, wishing he could continue to sleep. He didn't like being awake before the others. It was lonely and he was always worried that he was going to be caught doing nothing and displease someone. But his body refused to cooperate, so with a small sigh and a quick rub of his eyes, he uncurled his body and got to his paws.
Bright eyes looked around, resting on bushes and trees until falling to the ground. Someone had left a few bones lying about, no doubt from a rabbit meal. They were picked clean and the marrow had been taken from the cracked bones. Well, there was no food to be had, but at least he found something to do. Rahim lowered his head and started to collect the pieces one by one in his teeth. No point having them lying about where others could trod upon them.

Caramel and brown paws stepped carefully around the sleeping pack members. White marks spiraled up the wolf's forelegs before fading out of existance. Soft gold eyes watched those that slept before looking towards the youngster whom was up and moving about. A small smile crossed the caramel colored wolf's muzzle as she drew closer. Raya, the kinder of the alphas sat herself down near the path the youngster was traveling with the bones.
"Well, good morning." She yipped softly as to not wake the others, hoping their dreams were good. "Seems I'm not the only one that is up this morning."
She watched him wander back and foreth, taking bone after bone to a pile, sensible. Moving away from where she had been sitting, Raya picked up a couple bones herself and headed over to the slowly growing pile of small rabbit bones. She wasn't afraid to help out and had considered most the pack more of family then underlings and making them do everything.

Rahim had a good pile forming, but now that he had them he wasn't sure what to do with them. Bury them, perhaps? He thought about it as he continued, until he heard a voice. It was a sweet soft sound from one of the females, but from which one he didn't know. He couldn't remember meeting her before, so he looked up from the ground and gave Raya a little nod, then went back on his way. She probably just wanted to check up on him, that was all. But he was surprised and grateful when she got up from her place and picked up a few bones too.
He placed the last of them on the pile and turned to Raya, wagging his tail cheerfully. Then he took a closer look and his tail stopped moving. Wasn't she... Sophie's mate? So far he had only met the stricter Drappa and another female. Perhaps he had seen Raya from afar, but not face-to-face before. Startled he scrambled a few steps back, upsetting the pile. He hadn't expected to see a Drappa so early in the morning!
"I couldn't sleep," he said meekly, starting the nose the misplaced bones back with the others. "So I decided to clean up."

Raya tilted her head as she placed herself near the youngster, she wondered of his sudden change of attitude. did she suddenly become something that she wasn't? Puzzled she just sat there watching as he nosed the bones that had scattered back into the pile. It came to her that maybe it was her place within the pack that must have startled youngster.
"Dreams no longer holding your interest?" she asked shifting a little close, her tongue escaping her muzzle to give his closest ear a bath.
Yes, she was gentler then her mate Sophie and she wasn't afraid to hang out with the lesser of the pack. That's right, even as a Drappa, Raya enjoyed hanging around the males of the pack to show that they were still part of their pack. Ok, maybe it wasn't really that idea, but who really needed to know her personal thoughts?
"You don't have to be ashamed for being one of the first to rise. I've been up only a short while." Lowering her head a little Raya watch him carefully. "Come, I'm hungry, don't know about you, but being up this early can be a good thing." Standing she waited to see what he would choose.

Keeping his eyes on the bones and the ground, Rahim quickly placed the bones back in the pile. Now that they had gone through the trouble of gathering up, it was no good to scatter them about again. As he finished Raya asked him a question and gently licked him on the ear, which made him immediately look up. He also wasn't used to affection, so the simple gesture meant a lot to him, drawing a small smile from the Sikla.
"I guess getting up early is better than sleeping too long..." He said, thinking about it a little, then pricking his scarred ears. "Shall we go hunting?" He asked, wondering if Raya had anything in particular in mind. He wasn't very good at catching prey, but he could always be a helpful pair of eyes, or an assisting nose.
