The night was fairly cool as the city of Kurtyr prepared for festivities. People from all regions of the nation came to the capital for this very occasion. Children and developing kulgenki ran around, excited for things to begin. It was a time for people to showcase some of their latest inventions, and to marvel at the wonders of the world, and to relish in all the things they've learned.

At the city's heart, was the bulk of the festival. People bustled around, playing various games, and viewing the things that various people had found or created within that year. Some were simply toys, which brought caused children's eyes to twinkle with desire. Others were potentially new appliances to make life more easy. Half-magic, half-machine were how many of these things were created and powered.

This year, a few of the inventions that seem to be getting the most attention...

The sporkafer; a new utensil that will shift between a fork and spoon at your whim! All it takes is a little jolt of mana for it to flip!

The glamorous; something to help the ladies get ready. Little metal arms will help apply blush and all sorts of other bits of makeup, allowing your hands to be free for other things you might need to do!

Chiti; a new toy that's all the rage with children! Chiti takes on the shape of a chicken who can walk on its own!

A young woman walked though the crowd with her small kulgenki perched atop her head. The cockatrice was pleased to have a higher vantage point to glower at the activity and people. Meryl wandered contently through the crowd marveling at the activity. There was no reason to rush so she was taking her time looking at everything. She had been looking forward to making it back to the capitol in time for the festival this year.

Unlike her humakin Relic was not fond of large gatherings. Knowing her humakin's fondness for useless things she felt a responsibility to be out and keeping guard. "This is nonsense, we should leave." The kulgenki huffed in annoyance. Meryl did not let Relic's casual complaints phase her. Was her kulgenki ever in a good mood? "I am not going to miss out just because you hate fun." Speaking of fun, Meryl heard some people conversing nearby. What in the world could a sporkafer be? It seemed like a good next exhibit to begin hunting down. "We were stuck in Askin during the last festival and who knows when we will get to see the next one. Let's try to have some fun."

"Mommy, mommy! Daniel got a Chiti! Can I have one toooooooo?" bounced a child near the woman with the cockatrice. The young orc girl seemed to be rather ecstatic about being at the festival, but it was rather obvious what her interests were exactly.

"Maybe later, dear. Your father wants to see what's going on with the Sporkafer first. Once we do that, we'll go see about this Chiti toy all you children are raving about."

At the Sporkafer booth, a gruff looking dwarf stood on a stool to help gather attention of the crowds. In his hand was what appeared to be a fork of sorts. Closer, another dwarf could be seen handling orders and whatnot, with a halfling running back and forth to hand out the goods.

"Step right up folks! Dis is de amazin' Sporkafer! It might only look like a fork now, but behold!" he called out. In the pause, the tines of the fork soon expanded, making it more of a spoon, "Now tis a spoon! Cut down on de amount of silverwares ye need with the sporkafer! All it takes is a 'lil charge o'mana and it changes! 'N tis for the low, low price of 5 gold!"

Many people seemed rather interested in this pitch, though a cat anthro and a half elf off to the side seemed rather disgruntled with the whole thing. The half elf in particular, seemed almost angry at the dwarf as he practically glowered at the guy. His anthro friend seemed to be attempting to sooth or calm him.
