Are you going to see it? If you did, did you like it?
I saw it and I loved it!
I saw it and it was OK.
I saw it and hated it!
I am not interested in seeing it.
I would sooner have my eyeballs torn out with a rusty fork than see this thing.

In this thread you can rant (or maybe rave) about the Christmas 2009 release "Sherlock Holmes" starring Robert Downey Jr. & Jude Law.

Seeing it tomorrow, hopefully. I've been out of town for the past two weeks, and there isn't a theatre (that I saw) in Winter Park, CO. ;;

I'm still refusing to see it. I don't have the money to waste on a movie I'm going to be constantly angry at. xp

Okay, so seeing it today fell through.

I've heard that it's not as bad as fans were expecting, actually. And if it is, I'll just pretend that it's some Victorian chap who happens to be named Holmes but isn't actually the real one.

I heard they try so hard NOT to be traditional Holmes & Watson that it gets downright cartoonish.

I thought it was okay for an action movie. But I HATED the music. It sounded like a broken piano playing from Wild Wild West. Couldn't they at least put in something classical?

Okay. I saw it. And honestly, I liked it. I spent the whole time picking it apart for details, and it was unresearched and got innumerable small details wrong, but it did capture the spirit rather well. Holmes was sufficiently brilliant and sufficiently cold for my tastes, Watson was intelligent and dashing, and London was grimy. I took issue with Irene Adler being an international criminal (slut), and the Scooby Doo-esque ending, but I honestly expected it to be much worse, and it was good enough as a tribute. The music was awful, though. In ten years, people will listen to that horrible heavy synthetic bass line and go "OMG that's sooooooo 2009." It was actually reminiscent of the new Doctor Who theme in terms of datedness.

Saw it online and facepalmed my way through it.

I suppose I'm one of the very few who enjoyed the music. rolleyes How could you not enjoy that crazy, frenetic anima? It was absolutely perfect for setting me in the mental space of a steampunk-London filled with life and innovation. heart

When will you make an end?!

This movie stank. It stank like the dump. It stank like nothing has ever stunk before. Even the Lord of the Rings movies weren't as big a joke as this.

I was forced to watch it, and I was on the computer the entire time. I just thought I'd point that out.

Seriously though? Whoever that person was, was NOTHING like Sherlock Holmes. Whoever the other person was was only very slightly, very vaguely reminiscent of Dr. John Watson. Irene Adler just hanging around? She was in one story and disappeared forever afterward, just as was fitting! I can't even list all of the things about that movie that made me want to scream! That thing with the flies and the atonal music? Totally from a Basil Rathbone movie. Losers.
I wished I had scratched the Redbox disc before anyone noticed sad

When I am finished!
