Ooh! I get first crack at it? whee

My favorite character as a whole is probably Charlie. Halt all of your confused stares for a moment--let me explain it. I enjoy reading, and I honestly found the book hard to read because the author of the Twilight saga has said many times that she does not consider herself an author, but one who had an idea that she decided to write down. Because of this, alot of the characters seemed really "flat". You see pros and cons of different personalities, but for the most part there was alot of black and white. Antagonists and protagonists (butchered that spelling, my apologies). The appeal with Charlie is that he seemed the most real out of all of the characters, especially in the fourth book. It takes alot to accept that which you can't really understand...but his love for his daughter overcame the weirdness of the situation. He has little nuggets of wisdom here and here, but he's not the "father of the year" or "negelctful" dad sterotype.

Hmmm. The question of the date/marry is a hard one. I'd like a relationship like Jasper and Alice--forseen, understood, destined...but to say that's reflective of me liking Jasper is not an accurate assumption...I'd like a lover who was a friend like Jacob, but he takes upon himself things that are not exactly concentual--like the kisses. Edward's stalking gives me the creeps... I think I will just leave the answer at--no one.

Those are good points. My friend and I talked about how Bella pretty much got everything she wanted with no sacrifices. She had a baby when she should have given it up. She wanted to keep Jake as a friend when she was determined to become one of his sworn enemies and then she goes and has a little girl and Jake imprints on her so everything is hunky dory when in she should have had a boy as that was what her dreams pointed to and her dreams tended to have some form of significance in the earlier books. So she's dreaming of having a little boy but that won't work because the wolves would kill it since Jake wouldn't imprint therefore Jake goes and imprints on the baby girl she has. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

oh-thanks!!
i never thought of it that way... In a way, you're right: everything does basically fall into Bella's hands. And the book ends perfectly. Now, who can say that about their life?
No one.
I mean, don't get me wrong, Stephenie Meyer's saga is great, but... there are some serious flaws; as there are in every great novel.
And, i agree with the Charlie thing; he is loving and protective, but not too protective. I just find it sad that the ones who truly deserve happiness will never get/find it...
But, seriously, thanks bunches for the ideas!!
Any more would be emensely appreciated!!

Hmm, I'm not sure about dating or marrying this character, but my favorite is definitely Seth. I really like everything about him. Not just that he's a shapeshifter, but I love his personality. He's always so happy and cheerful, and I love it. He seems like the kind of guy who could make you smile at anything, and the kind who could comfort you if you needed it. Or at least, he gives me that kind of impression.
So, Seth's my favorite <3

Yeah the perfect ending disappointed me. I wanted a big fight. Everything led up to that and suddenly everything was perfect? No the Volturi wouldn't have given up that easily and just cause Nessie had a heartbeat? No they could have easily decided that was faked and the images planted. I'm sorry but just because she didn't want to kill off Cullens? I thought the whole Nessie bit on review was a bit to perfect. Also imprinting from the Womb? Another thing I find odd it doesn't make much sense for that to happen if you ask me. Bella got everything she wanted without any struggle and her having superior control over her bloodlust also didn't seem very right to me. In all everything was perfect for Bella. People can argue in New Moon about her having the Cullens but she had the Wolf Pack so all she did was get another family.

I agree completely with everything in this post.

Poor Nessie never really had a chance as one of my favorite characters, because of the circumstances she was born to. The whole Bella getting pregnant seemed a too fanfiction-y to me. If Nessie had come along as some other character, I would have probably liked her more.
Also, Bella should have had a harder time as a vampire... the bloodlust control was a bit too much. It would have been better if she lost control on that first man she ran into. Then at least she would have ONE flaw.
Don't get me wrong, the Twilight saga are great books. Like CrimsonsDecayingRose said, every novel has some flaws. Even the twilight saga.

Even though I point out the flaws I still don't mind the books that much. I'm still a bit sick of them at the moment but I figure I'll be able to read them again in a year or so. I'm actually working on a fanfic now. It's a crossover between Song of the Lioness by Tamora Pierce though it's more for those fans than Twilight fans as Bella doesn't end up with Edward and doesn't become a vampire. It's an AU of New Moon and Jake won't play a big part in it either if he's in it at all.

I cannot agree more with all of you! My friends and I say time and time again that the end was a cop out. The "real" ending of the story foils Jacob and Bella. She gets everything. He gets nothing. She gets immortality, the baby Rosalie wants, the love of her life, her best friend, and a happily-ever-after. Jacob loses his home, his pack, and the woman he loves. Nessie was the bandaid to attempt to heal the true message of the books: Sometime life just isn't fair, and things don't always go your way...sometimes it does. But yes, overall, I liked the fast pace of the books, and how they read like a movie. I can't wait to see what they do with the other movies.

Yeah and the fact that he adores Nessie I"m sorry but I didn't want Jake imprinting on Nessie because that is cliche and also disturbing cause he was so interested in Bella then the minute her baby's born she's possessive of Jake and he's the doting Papa or brother until she's old enough for a boyfriend. Yeah EPIC FAIL on that part.

I like Emmett, because he is hilarous and strong. I would love him as a big brother. You could play tons of sports with him and have a fun time competing against one another.

I also love Alice, she's amazing. I would love her as my sister because we could go shopping and hang out.

Well, I would also have to say that Charlie is my favorite because he's so awkward and it makes me laugh but at the same thing he makes good with what he's given and what he's got. He does the best that he can to be a good father to Bella, even though half the time she doesn't deserve it. I just think he was a very well put together character on Meyer's part.

Now for the love/marry part. I would totally choose Emmett. For a variety of reasons.
1. He's hot. But that doesn't really matter.
2. He's strong and protection is an important thing. I would never feel like I was in danger or anything.
3. He's so light hearted. He laughs about everything. He's always happy. He's always joking. I like relationships that have a lot of laughter and jokes and fun times.
4. Even though he makes his jokes, he is still completely devoted. You can tell that there is nothing he wouldn't do to make Rosalie happy and keep her safe. I want a relationship like that just because there is a lot of trust in a relationship like that.
