Odyssey was rambling about the front of the shop, whilst Humfrey-clone set up the back area for Odyssey's potion making. Why was Humfrey doing it? Mostly because the ditzy girl kept leaving in the midst of it to check if anyone had come on. She was anxious about the persons coming in this day, and she couldn't wait to actually meet them face to face. She all but demanded that they come pick up their items from her personally.
"Oh, I hope they are good people." Oddy murmured wringing her hands. Never had she been nervous, but this was so totally different than she had done in her life. It was important and she was part of it. All the more reason to seem nervous about screwing up.

Jubilation hopped off of his bike, carelessly leaned it against the side of the building, and proceeded noiselessly through the front door into the Xanthian Internal Affairs shop. He had come to pick up his Xanth item, as requested by a female shopkeeper; she had sounded quite excited over the phone, and Jubilation wondered what it would be like meeting her face to face.
Jubilation absent-mindedly jiggled the loose change in his pocket and surveryed the interior of the shop; it seemed quite cosy, and much nicer kept than his own place. "Anyone here?" Jubilation said to no one in particular, not really expecting a reply. He was, after all, quite unsure of how this business was going to proceed.

She heared the voice sure enough and had popped out from behind a shelf with a large grin on her face, "You came! I'm so glad to meet you face-to-face!" the blonde practically bubbled over with warmth and cheer. Odyssey was genuinely happy to see this person, even if they had just met face to face.
"Here to pick up your item? Did you name it? It's a boy," She chattered as she wandered away behind a counter, obviously to retrieve Jubilation's item, "I never really met him before so I can't speak for his personality." Though she never stated her name it was obvious she was the same person Jubilation spoke to, all the while she'd go off on tangents of marveling at the wonderful convenience of the phone.

Jubilation was dazed momentarily and simply stood there, staring at the animated girl infront of him. Yep, this was definitely the shopkeeper he had talked to on the phone, no mistake about it. Jubilation seemingly quite taken back by the blonde girl's jovial outburst and, for a moment, seemed to have trouble keeping up with the fast-paced, mainly one-way conversation.
"um..." Jubilation stammered, unsure of which question to answer first. "Yes," He began reluctantly, choosing wisely to stop standing around like an idiot and at least attempting to answer some of Odyssey's question, "I'm here to pick up my item."
"I've decided to name him Hassan," Jubilation continued, unsure of what to say next. He was fidgeting unnecessarily, perhaps made anxious by Odyssey, who had now begun zipping around the room.
"Nice to meet you, by the way," He added after a minute, starting to smile.

Oddy seemed totally oblivious to Jubilation's mild discomfort, but she did seem to slow down a bit as she dug around in the back of the counter, "Fine name!"
After a moment a very Humfrey-looking clone hobbled out a book under his arm, "I swear she'd loose her brain if it weren't in her skull." The short reclusive seeming man seemed more somber than the vibrant girl. He stared at Jubilation a moment before talking, "I'm called Humfrey Two. I am a ... double of an original," he left it at that and wandered closer and held out the book. "Here take this book to record stuff about your item. Now if you'll excuse me I have stuff to do." As Humfrey Two let go of the item and hobbled back to where he came from, the journal just floated in mid-air after it was let go reguardless if it was taken or not.
"Don't mind him, he's a fuddy-duddy!" Odyssey teased the codger lightly during her search before she straightens up holding a candycane and a certificate in hand, "Here we are." She now approached Jubilation walking past Humfrey as he wandered off toward the back, "Just..er..don't eat Hassan. In fact make sure no one even has the chance to," Oddy giggled a bit.

Jubilation grinned at Odyssey's compliment; "Thanks," he muttered. He was starting to get comfortable with the blonde girl's fast paced way of doing things and no longer seemed as tense as he was when he first arrived at the shop. This comfort, however, did not last long. For a few minutes later, Jubilation again found himself in the presence of another strange little man; Humfrey Two, as he himself introduced.
Before Jubilation even had the chance to step forward and shake Humfrey Two's hand, the little man had already retreated beyond his grasp. "Ok..." Jubilation hesitantly shuffled forward to receive the little book that was now floating quite leisurely in mid-air. The book was obviously meant for him, Humfrey the Second had said so himself (and judging by his air of speech, he was most definitely the one in charge here). Jubilation first reached out and touched the book gently, and then, more confidently, grabbed it with both hands. Jubilation was normally not this much of a scaredy-cat; however, today's events had him quite amazed.
Jubilation turned his attention back to Odyssey. "Fuddy-duddy?" he chuckled at Odyssey's peculiar use of words as he stepped forward to gather up the two delicate items in Odyssey's outstretched hands.
"Don't worry," Jubilation assured Odyssey, and for no apparent reason, speaking loud enough for Humfrey Two to hear, "I'll take good care of him."

She grinned at Jubilation and nodded now offering the item and the certificate of ownershop seeming to make sure first that he had the book situation firmly under control, "The name and stuff is already on the certificate. I did that while you were talking to Humfrey." Oddy explained obviously showing an obvious show of control over her usual somewhat explosive personality, "And the journal is to record stuff, you can write in it and there is a magic to it that records your daily activities as well. Sometimes a task will appear in there so be sure to check on it." She was taking a little more time with Jubiliation over the journal than Humfrey had.
"Other than that if you have any questions let me know. I'll call you when the antidote is ready..." She tried to explain to him the process of it all, and she hoped he understood.

Jubilation took a moment for all the information to set in his brain: check journal often, don't eat Hassan, call in with questions. He made himself several mental notes; got it! Odyssey had also tried to explaine several other pieces of information to him, something about mixing chemicals, battling the effects, and such things. Jubilation didn't quite catch all that, but he felt no need to inquire further: he would leave everything in Odyssey's capable hands and hope things work out.
"Thanks so much!" Jubilation again expressed his gratitue as he carefully stowed away Hassan, the certificate, and the notebook. "I'll call if I have questions, good luck with the antidote!"
((Thanks!))

She nodded and smiled, "Alright! Thanks. Good luck to you, too." Odyssey bowed a bit, "Now if you will excuse me, I too have things to finish. I also need to make sure Humfrey Two didn't mix up my jars." She gave a sigh and then bowed again turning her back to him and wandering off toward the back. She trusted that he'd find his own way out.
((We'll be using this thread again for Antidote-giving and stuff. =) Otherwise. Hope you enjoyed it.))

Jubilation waited until Odyssey had disappeared into the back room before quietly showing himself out. He took a deep breathe, gently deposited the bag contained the objects he had come for, and successfully retrieved into his bike basket, and started on the long ride home.
((Alright. and I did enjoy the RP, I enjoyed it immensely actually xd heart ))

((I hope this is where I take the times requested in the Journal...))
Jubilation stepped once again into the Xanth Headquarters. It's been quite some time since he'd been here, two weeks maybe. In his hand was a bag, stuffed full by the looks of it. In it were stuff that the Xanth staff and requested that he bring along. It was no doubt very important, although how he still did not quite know.
Jubilation dropped the bag to his feet and quietly waited for Oddy, whom he was sure was probably bustling in the back room the way she usually does.

Peeking her head around the corner, she smiled jovially at Jubilaton. "Hey there! Finally you make it!" She said in her goofy 'joking around' type voice. With a grand gesture, she motioned for him to follow her into the back, the scents of gently wafting herbs luring him into the depths of the store. To a place where he hadn't quite been before, but yet, where he had probably glimpsed the grump, Humfrey two scuttling about.
In the center of the back room could be seen a large, black cauldron. Oddy absent mindedly stirred it a few times, gazing into the depths appearing to be intently staring at it, as though she were expecting a reaction. Apparently she got that reaction for she looked up, grinning happily, apparently very pleased with herself.
"Oh! And bring the bag of items, along with darling Hassan!"

Jubilation wheeled around at the familiar voice of Odyssey. It sure was nice that she came along when she did; Jubilation was starting to get antsy again. "Hello again," Jubilation said and followed Oddy to the backroom.
Once there, Jubilation was overtaken by a powerful and poignant smell. He could see that the cauldron dominating the center of the room was where the smell was emitted, and sensed that this object was of great importance and probably the reason why he was here. "What's that?" Jubilation asked, more curious than afraid.
Jubilation placed the bag of items within Oddy's reach, but waited for an answer to his question before handing over Hassan. It sure wouldn't do for the little candy cane to meet his eternal doom in a boiling pot of carrot stew... or something like that.

"Well, as you may have guessed, that is the antidote that will release your dear Hassan here!" She smiled, walking over to him and opening up the bag. "Hmm.. Quite a few items here!" She squealed, poking gently at the candies and the stuffed bear. "Hmm. I think we'll only need the candies for this ritual, but I'm sure that Hassan will love those toys!"
Humfrey looked over his book at the man and the ditzy blonde, grunting his displeasure at the smell that was piercing through the room. "Will you hurry up with that mess already? That stench is vexing at best."
"Go ahead and gently lower the candycane into the cauldron. Don't worry, it's not going to hurt him. Just don't throw him into there.. I have the strangest feeling that that would be a very bad idea!" She completely ignored what Humfrey had previously said, and with a grand motion towards the cauldron to Jubilation, she began busying herself with setting up the candies upon a table.

"I see," Jubilation mumbled and nodded. He glanced over at Humfrey Two, who seemed quite annoyed at the way events were proceeding. Yes, Jubilation thought the smell was getting to him too.
Jubilation proceeded to following Odyssey's instructions in lowering the candycane into the cauldron. He carefully lowered the candycane inch by inch into the solution, all the while spying for anything to signify that he'd done something wrong. "Like this?" he asked, not taking his eyes off of Hassan.
