So there was a problem with the Day 2 update, Photo with 5 votes was jailed while Oxiado had 7 votes and Buzz 6, meaning Oxiado should have been jailed.

Also since Photo was the sniper, he's out of the game. But the problem is the fact that the update and voting didn't reflect the changes to the game... there's more to this that Photo can add to but, this was a big time mess up and should be fixed soon.

Edit: And with the problems in the last few games. WE NEED TO COME UP WITH GM RULES.

Also need to bring my what does the guild expect thread back up because, still no conclusion on that too.

Uhm, can I get any ideas on what to do? I'm at a loss, since Photo has revealed himself as sniper I can't in good honesty pull it back and just say 'jk.'

EDIT: I understand that this is my fault. But I'd also like to propose a rule about changing votes. Is there any way we can make it so you can't change your vote after you post? Or within one hour of voting ends?

This is just the most recent thing that shows why we need to come up with gm rules and revise a couple rules for the game.

As for suggestions, I think everyone else in crew has actually been GM for a game before except me. Can't make good suggestions on this one.

I think it's totally fine that people change their votes whenever they want - as long as it's before voting closes. And when voting closes threads are supposed to be locked and moved, which your thread wasn't and still isn't.

I'd suggest actually looking at all the votes?

Yeah, cuz I'm trying to think of a sensible solution and I'm kinda at a loss. There's no way to just completely make everyone-- or in reality anyone happy.

But defs a rule could be made. Maybe forcing a PM if you change your vote? Or a GM rule, that I kinda think is a better one, voting from (example) 11PM-10PM, giving that hour window for a safe tally but also making sure the guild understands that the update will be up at a certain time, cuz, as I think we can all see, the guild is very ferocious when they get angry, and I can remember last time I was GM when I got chewed out for not having the update up when voting ended.

I would say lock down votes one hour before update, then count up and use those locked down votes. So I guess require people to vote an hour before update goes up at the latest as well as any changes they think they wanna make, rather than wait till the last second. Could also give time for some last minute update revisions.

User ImageThere are GM rules in one of the rule threads (I think they're in the general guild rule thread actually... when they should probably be in game rules) but that aside, they could probably use some revision along with an extra outline or two stating that voting threads are to be locked after voting ends to prevent tampering of the vote. Vote changing should be allowed in my opinion, and while it should be encouraged for users to let the gm know that they're changing their vote, it shouldn't be required in my opinion.

On another note, I think the recent problems we've been having with GMs is simply that they don't quite understand what being a GM entails. I remember when we first began choosing GMs many of them weren't well-liked for changing things during their games but I think most of them understood it was a big responsibility hosting a game and were a little meek about certain things. I certainly remember being terrified of not being able to update on time or messing something up and jailing the wrong person so I double and triple checked everything xD

Maybe in the future, when gms are promoted we could send them a message in the promotion reason encouraging them to read up on the GM rules and make sure they know that if they run into any problems, they should consult with a crew member before making a decision?
