So no one knows what this new world is going to bring, but we can all predict (or come pretty far from it!!). Post some things you thing (or don't think) will happen in the year 2010. It can be the craziest s**t, or the closest descendent of the ordinary. Hell, I'll even go first.

Hmm... let's see. Sometime this year, I'll be eighteen, eligible for dual-citizenship, and I'd like to be able to get my license. Graduating high school is likely, college is hopeful, and keeping my job is probable. I'm currently living in Massachusetts, so weather is unpredictable, so that's not changing.

To not get tangled in the politics at work. To find more pieces to the puzzle, and to possibly annoy George Lucas

I actualy aim to get into politics more often. As for George Lucas, what's up with that?

George Lucas should be ashamed, like James Cameron, to take all that money for little substance.

Are you going to join a politcal party?

Democrat.
I was a member of the Aust Democrats, until they sold us out with the GST. That was about as 'right' in my political leanings would allow.

I was a member of International Socialists way back, but got dissillusioned by the whole politcal process, and the lack of free speech one really has.

I was a big fan of Midnight Oil, an Aussie political band. After they broke up and Peter Garrett shimmied his was into the Labour Party, I got to see how castrated he became, allowing his convictions to be compromised, and watered down somewhat.

Phew, that coulda happened to me!!

About the socialist thing: that's too left-wing. There is such a thing as too much of something. You probably should have had some idea what a Socialist was before joining the group. At least you got out!! *sips Full Throttle*

Lesson learned: Saying and believing whatever the ******** you want is a beautiful thing.

Prince William is a beautiful thing as well. (:

Haha sorry about that. I tend to go off topic a lot and say the most random things at times. Yeah.

I knew what socialism is, I just didnt agree with some of the motivations behind their actions.

At some protest rallies (before they became ways for bored kids to get on camera, and yes I'm being glib), especially anti-nuclear rallies, where many folk were not there under any politcal banner, they just didnt want nukes on our soil, the IS icon wound up on banners. Which are shown on the nightly news. Which is a dumb tactic.

Many don't like socialists, and the propaganda against the ideal is pretty strong. And the examples around the globe of socialism in place are certainly all examples of how not to do it.

I believe a society can be judged according to its treatment to the people it least likes. For surely there has to be a reason we don't like them in the first place, and, fix that if possible.

I should have added, that an Australian Socialists idea of revolution is drinking red wine with fish.

Just a question, do you think Will will be 'kinged' before his old man? And, keeping off topic, is his surname 'Battenberg-Windsor'? Not sure whether they completely got rid of the 'Battenberg'.

Interesting. Well, I'm not Australian, so that would have been a good piece of info.

And to answer youe question, technically his surname is still Battenberg-Windsor, but when doing his royal duties or refered to as part of the royal family, he goes by the last name Wales. Strange, huh? I wouldn't want to be referred to as Princess Fallon Wales (would you like being known as Prince ----- whatever province/state you come from?).

Only if you want to piss off an socialist C:, which really isn't too difficult. Having a nation evolve without revolution, may have something to do with perspective. The French will get up and protest quicker than we ever will. We down here, like to take the long-winded approach.

I think it was at Prince Philip's request. I had always thought the HRH was Greek, and although he has roots there, he is more Danish/German. And still waters run deep I suppose. Charles learnt Welsh, seeing as he was their Prince. The doco said he was convincing, but I am not too sure. Better than me tho. It would have to be written for me to say it phonetically.

Not to intentionally piss off anyone. I didn't know Aussies had a somewhat different view of Socialism (I've always referred to it as pre-Communism"). I know that if carried out correctly no one has to worry about class and at the same time THE CORRUPTION OF GOVERNMENT, but that has never happened in socialist or communist countries. Sadly, it all starts off with a good idea but there are too many holes (and that's what makes this system what it is).

I agree. It is the corruption that is the weak link. Without it, maybe. But Capitalism works no better.

Well, is there an "in the middle"?
It's just wonderful how we have to compare everything to extremes or else we cannot survive. |:
