The barracks where most of Squad 8's members live is a large, rectangular building surrounding a smaller, open rectangular area in the middle. The middle area is open to the elements, and houses the large garden.
In the garden there are walkways around the perimeter and four walkways that begin at the corners of the rectangle and meet in the center. Along each walkway there are various types of flowers and other plants growing. The area between the walkways are grassy, and several trees provide shade on a sunny day. Sometimes squad members can be seen here relaxing after a long day.
