The ruins of what was once Slyphiel's hometown. The dead holy tree, Zanafar, still stands in the back of the ruins. Large stone catacombs spread out in all directions beneath the city.

Xellos I'd tell you what I'm thinking but... 
Xellos glanced around as he and Cerras left the Astral Plane, inspecting the remnants of the city. The last few years had worn away more of the already destroyed buildings, til there was almost nothing left standing. Thankfully, what he was after was not in the city...or above ground for that matter. He glanced over at Cerras, who was still standing beside him. He wasn't sure why, but he felt a small pang of concern for the young Mazoku. This was, after all, where Hellmaster Phibrizzo was killed by Lina. Really, it was the Lord of Nightmares herself, but he wasn't sure if she knew that...
But then, she might not know that this was where it happened anyway. He didn't know what it was like...to lose one's master like that. He'd seen what it had made Valgaav do, but he was merely a servant...not a general like him and Cerras. He hadn't been a part of the lord he'd served. "Ready to get to work?" he asked. ....that, is a secret....

Xellos I'd tell you what I'm thinking but... Xellos nodded solemnly, and then smirked slightly as her perkiness returned. It didn't bother him as much as it would a normal Mazoku. Being around Amelia had given him a much better immunity to that. "Very well..." he mumbled to himself. He pushed off the ground lightly and levtitated near her. "Do you seee that large tree over there? That's where we have to start...searching..."
....that, is a secret....

"It's OK," Cerras muttered in reassurance, before seeing Xellos motion towards the Large tree. It was... dead ...
The dark-haired mazoku ignored this, as she did the other past occurrences. "Over there! I'll start looking!" Cerras ran quickly towards the tree before tripping over something, to regain her balance, she did a flip so she was back up on her feet. She still wondered what Xellos was searching for, it'd be easier if she knew.
"What are we searching for, exactly, Xellos?"
She was regaining her seriousness a bit more, it was like she was bipolar, or something of the sort.
"Since the tree is dead ... " She paused for a few moments.
"Can I cut it up for practice?" So the monster inside her took control again. She didn't have a care in the world, so she just went along with this blunt and cold attitude. Even though she was somewhere in her late teens, her monster form also helped her stay looking somewhat younger. Luckily, like her Master, Lord Phibrizzo, her child-like appearance made people find her more ... defenseless.
Good thing for that, because it made it easier for her to stab them in the back later.

Xellos I'd tell you what I'm thinking but... "Do what you want..." he replied, concerning the tree, as he landed next to her. "Just be careful. It WAS a holy tree, after all..." He didn't see why she had to run there, though. It was easier to levitate. He wandered away from her, towards the other side of the tree. It didn't take him very long to find what he was looking for: a small stone, with a series of strange markings engraved on its rugged surface. He knelt down close to it, and reached out a hand to touch it. Sparks of emeral green energy shot up at him from the symbols, coursing up his arm, until he finally pulled away. He scowled slightly. It hadn't caused him any pain, it was barely enough to make his hand feel numb. At least now he knew He hadn't been kidding before...the spells on this particular place were indeed powerful. No wonder they'd asked for him specifically. ....that, is a secret....

Just a tip, so ya don't get lost. =D]
Well, there was truth in Xellos's words. If she hacked into the Holy tree too much, it might set something off, like the magic still protecting the Holy tree somewhat, and it could kill her.
"Guess you're right." Cerras levitated until she was next to Xellos. She tilted her head to the side in curiosity before crossing her arms. So.. that stone was what they needed? That rock? But it hurt Xellos. Her brows furrowed.
"Does it hurt humans?" She questioned, trying to think of a better way to do this. She hated being kind, offering to have a chance to hurt herself instead of her ally getting hurt, but it was needed.
"I'm mostly human. It may hurt the monster in me, but," Cerras started to reach towards it, hesitantly, she didn't expect Xellos to stop her. After all, doing all this was their job right? They didn't actually care for each other at all ...
That's what Cerras believed. The human in Cerras believed that if they got along, it would make things easier. Maybe more than friends, too, the monster in Cerras thought that was disgusting though.
"This is our job ..."
Nothing more, nothing less. Just a job. She wasn't helping him because she wanted to, or anything.
It gave her a faint shock throughout the body, but she ignored it, reaching in further. When she actually grabbed the stone, having a good grip on it; the shocking got worse, and her whole body was stiff, she couldn't move. She really needed help, no matter how much the monster side of her didn't want to admit it. She was too stubborn.
"Xellos ...?"
Hah, her human form took over again. It made her sick.

"There you are! I've been looking for you!" Version said holding up her guitar and hitting a string making fire shoot out into the sky and it came down as raining fire. "See look how cool it is~! Raining fire!!! We could kill so much people~!" Version said.

Xellos I'd tell you what I'm thinking but... Xellos sighed and pulled Cerras away from the rock. "This isn't what we're here for." he said, trying to be gentle. "This is just a barrier we have to break to get to what we need." He drew back a little and focused his attention on the rock. The area around his body gained a soft purple glow, and his cape fanned out behind him as he gathered energy into his staff. He smirked slightly as the red gem in the center turned a bright fiery red. With a swift motion he brought it down on the rock, the two energies cracking violently upon colliding. He slowly grasped the handle with his other hand, forcing the head of his staff through the shield. The glowing gem barely touched the stone and the shield exploded outwards, crushing the nearby structures. He grabbed hold of his cloak, using it to shield himself, as well as Cerras from the debris. When the aftermath finally ceased, the stone was gone, and he could make out a dark stairway in front of them. Then he heard something that seemed...out of place, somehow...music? He glanced up and put up a barrier as tongues of fire fell down around him and Cerras. "Well, if it isn't Miss Version..." he said cheerfully. He was meeting a lot of old friends today.
....that, is a secret....

"Y-You could've told me that ... " Cerras mumbled, her body was completely stiff now. She could barely move her fingers, and now, how was she supposed to move? Magic? She couldn't cast magic if she couldn't move...
"Thanks Xellos. I appreciate it." She said in a gentle tone, it was obvious that her human emotions were getting to her. Since when did monsters act this way?
When she heard music, she knew who it was immediately.
"Version ... ? Version~!"
She was happy to see her, she wanted to run up and hug her, but, she couldn't move.

Xellos I'd tell you what I'm thinking but... "Well...I was about to, before you went and grabbed the stone..." he said shaking his head dismissively. He felt a little bad that she'd gotten 'hurt' grabbing it, but then again, it was her fault for being careless. After all, if he had a little trouble with it, there was no way she'd have an easier time. Then he turned back to Version. "So, what brings you here, Miss Version...?" he asked with mild curiousity. ....that, is a secret....

"I'm sure it's the same reason we're here ... is that right, Verison?" Cerras questioned, smirking. They were there because they were ordered to, it looked like all the Mazoku were being forced into it all. They needed the dragons, Yume and Filia, to do something, which was left untold. The captain didn't tell Cerras all of the details, she swore, it was because of her child-like appearance. She wasn't actually a kid. She was about as old as all the other Mazoku. It was just the appearance that threw them all off.
She was trying her best to try and move her arms, but they were stiff, staying at her sides. Same with her legs. All she could really do to move was turn her head. Her body was in shock because of what happened.
It was strange. It was able to sense the monster in her even when the majority of her was human. But, of course, holy things would be holy. They wouldn't except even the "tainted" bloods like her.

Xellos I'd tell you what I'm thinking but... "I see...well unfortunately, Miss Version...there are no people here to 'kill'. This town was wiped out several years ago." he explained. Then looked back at the stairway. He was starting to get kind of bored standing outside. If such a powerful barrier was on the entrance, who knew what kinds of spells could be inside. "Can you move yet, Miss Cerras?" he asked. He was fairly certain he already knew the answer, but he didnt' want to 'assume' like last time. ....that, is a secret....

Version laughed and smirked happily. "Then how about we find Lina's group~! You talk about them all the time~! They must be really fun to kill~!" Version smiled. Fire balls were still falling from the sky. "Do you know where they are Xellos~?" Version questioned.
