I have a question about taking BC Pills. I am currently taking Aviane (28 days).
I am currently on my last week of active pills, and I've very belatedly realized I have one more left in my pack than I should. I have already started my period, so I believe I missed the pill either on Sunday or Monday. The package of course says I should take a missed pill as soon as I remember, however, does this apply when you're not sure which pill it is you've missed?
Any suggestions?

I would think you could just take the pill now. But you might want to call your doctor or a clinic to double check.

if you miss a pill by only a few hours, then it's nothing really to worry about. Once you've reached the 12 hour mark, the effectiveness of the pill begins to wear off.
However, whenever you realize you miss a pill, you should take it immediately.
All the pills are the same. I know they're labels Monday-Sunday, but that's for you to keep track. There's no specific drug for each day. It's all the same. So you don't have to worry about taking a 'monday's' pill on Friday.
I would avoid sexual penetration or use a condom until you let your next month of pills kick in. It'll make the pill 99% effective again.
