I've been offered boot camp this summer.
They said I didn't have to work out so much and everything and that when I got there I could deal with it....
But you know that feeling after running too hard and you feel like you're going to die?
I hate that feeling.
So I need to get in shape.

What should I do?
Thus far I lift nearly everyday and I'm going to start running 2 miles every other day.

My advice is run 4-6 miles, then running 2 miles won't be s**t to you. Don't so much worry about lifting, train your muscles. Do push ups and sit ups. Have a friend time you to see how many push ups and sit ups you can do in 2 minutes.

build your muscles memory, practice the correct push up and situp form, also if you can grab a big backpack fill it with about 45 pounds and walk at about a 15 minute mile pace for 4-6 miles maybe once every 1-2 weeks, trust me you will be thankful once you get to basic and have to do ruck marches.

That sounds rather painful, seeing that my back is injured right now, that will not happen. Its injured because I carried a bag about that weight for the entire year of school nearly everyday.

you realize that in basic the standard is to be able to do 15k like that right? it is an actual thing you must pass to graduate basic

I got that down just fine then.
My recruiters think I'll do fine and my brother has had me training for it to Marine standards.

Learn to love that feeling. Becuase no matter what you do, it's never going away.

I always was told to think of it like this "No matter how fast you run, it's always going to hurt. But it sure feels a lot better with a medal hanging around your neck."

Basically, it's always going to hurt, but it sure feels better knowing that you got 'your time' then when you don't. xp

I highly suggest cardio as the target of your work. Your muscles will train up pretty quick for pushups and situps, but your lungs will take some work. Run a lot. as well, the suggestion to get used to marching is a good one, but you would need to buy a ruck if you wanted to do it without injury, or a good hiking bag with support.
