Biography Before Death: Rae lived in Kanagawa, Japan with her older brothers who took care of her as their parents had been murdered. She studied and practiced the art of Kendo under the teachings of a Master Swordsman. She had promised to herself that she would get strong enough to protect all her loved ones so she would not have to face the pain of death again. On her way home from Kendo lessons, the taxi that she was riding in had been struck by another car, thus killing her and the driver.
Biography After Death: After she died, a kind family in Rukongai had decided to take Rae under their care. Rae was very happy there, but inside she was bored to tears. She practiced Kendo everyday in their backyard until she had mastered every technique her previous Master had taught her. She wanted to further improve her strength so she began attending the Shinigami academy, where her new love for Kidou was born. She graduated with high marks in swordsmanship and kidou and now has been fighting under the Fifth division.
