i dont have a koi tattoo, but having done quite a few over the years the only thing i really have to say about them is personally I think Koi are really really phallic looking and I just cant get past that........

True, but I have seen some beautifully and elegantly done. That's the type I am really interested in. They have to flow. Else wise they just aren't art. The real creature is so beautiful and graceful when it moves. ^_^

I've seen some beautiful ones, and have a few pieces that I'd love to be able to put on people. The problem I have with them is that most of them are overdone, and very few are original designs. I have one planned, completely unique, and I can't wait to get it done (gonna do some scarring with it as well to really make it pop).

I don't have any tattoos considering the fact that I'm still in high school and my mom would kill me if I got one now...

But here's my opinion:
I think they're pretty, but a lot of people get them it seems like, like how a lot of people like to get Japanese kanji... It all just depends on how unique it looks for me.
