I've been poking at this in the Books forum and thought it might be fun to migrate here.
The objective is to go through the whole alphabet using the first letter of a fictional character's name. (When you get to Z, you start over at A again.) To make it a bit more challenging, keep it specific to books: literature, comic books, and plays. No original characters. And don't go overboard on the manga, since that opens it up to nearly every anime character ever.
So I'll start with A, and then the next person has to supply a B, etc. etc. very scientific.

@ Irian: Jenkins. Sometimes Pendragon.
@ Erika: You know...I'm shocked at myself, too. I think my head was too full of DWJ to think about Sarah Monette's work at all.

Brother Orphelin from Melusine by Sarah Monette. (Okay, seriously, I tried to think of another character but only managed to come up with figures from Greek and Shakespearean theatre. And that felt even cheaper than defaulting to Sarah Monette.)
