About 15 years before our story takes place, a meteor crash landed in the middle of a busy city in Australia. There was a large fuss over its origins and conspiracy theories popping up out of the wood work. The building it hit was an Energy plant. The plant went down for a few months while they did repairs and searched for the rock. Shortly before the plant was repaired, the rock was found, but it didnt look like a rock. It was a red, green, and blue octagonal shaped crystal. Scientist did a scan of the rock and found it to hold vast amounts of energy. While one scientist was studying its properties of energy release and conduction, he got a reaction when he went out into the sun. He couldnt be sure what caused such a reaction due to the countless waves in the sun. Shortly after, he found it caused a great release when exposed to any kind of radiation. While studying, the scientist became ill. He quickly submitted his findings to the scientific community and the city was quarantined. After a long recovery, he ran tests of reaction at the power plant and soon found that the stone had absorbed mass amounts of radiation in space that it released when it met the radiation from the Energy Plant. Everyone within the city had been affected by it, though no one showed signs of it, and so the city was removed from quarantine. the Scientist thought his stone was harmless, but he was wrong. He was reading one of his history books, when he read of a similar incident in the past. It had a picture of the same stone that sat in the mans study. There was a legend about the stone.

The man feared some one may find such information and hid his stone away as was the other one. The only information on the other stone was that it was an old Aborigine legend.
The scientist's fear became a reality as more read of the story. His life was threatened multiple times before he died of old age in his study, taking the secret location of his stone with him. Soon the global awareness of the stone awoke the radiation that had spread throughout the two affected areas, and the powers of the people who were affected showed. More information on the legend was found as well...

Those with intent of greed will be granted riches only.
Those with intent of protection will be granted immunity.
Those with intent of power will be granted control.
The race was on to find both stones. Eventually search teams were created, each with their own idea of how to use the stones. The Gemz searched to use the stone for good, they consisted of a mix of those with the gift and those without. The Silent searched to seal the powers forever, consisting mainly of those without the gift. Finally, Shadow Stone searched to use the stones for their own selfish purposes, they consisted of those both with gifts and without. where do you stand?

The name of the scientist who studied the stone has been identified. His name is Professor Austin T. Giles. He worked for Associate Labs. The stone was last seen by someone other than Giles in the lab.
A native Aborigine Tribe leader was killed and controversy has sprung up between field researchers, the natives, and the locals. Numerous retaliative actions have been taken by both the Aborigines and Locals. The Researches apologized and want nothing to do with this battle and have pulled out of the Outback to escape the fray.
Leader of the Shadow Stones is still unknown, but their goal has been clear for a number of months. It is advised that all persons keep themselves guarded at all times.
More Affected by the stones' power are showing up and have caused the town to need more and more repairs. Though some have been an asset, they are still dangerous.

Jared walked into the Shadow Stones's secret hideout underneath a research lab Jared had taken when the Shadow Stones were but a single member. He click a number, then another, and a few more, and the door opened. Jared casually walked up to a large screen with a keyboard and alot of buttons on a panel below. Jared turned on the huge computer and began the large scale search again for the day.
To bypass the time, Jared figured he would require company. After all, who wants to be alone in the evening. He pulled out his cell phone and went to his contacts. He slowly went through them this time laughing about events he recalled when he looked at the persons name, until it came to Billy. He pressed call with a bit of a smile. Jared then just sat patiently as the phone rang, awaiting a pick up.

Kirai bounced around the park happily. He loved the way it smelled in the evening, especially around summer, spring and beginning of fall. He looked around and saw a bush full of berries. They looked delicious and Kirai's stomach was growling at him. He quickly ran over and gobbled down some of the berries. They could of been poisonous, but Kirai was young and naive, and didnt have the sense to know wilderness lore. Lucky for him, he wasnt poisoned. He laid down up against the bush and watched the setting sun on the skyline with a smile of satisfaction on his face.

 Akyo's scream emitted loud, muffled by the sound of the roaring engine of her 69. Mustang, her baby, the one true love she had. The seventeen year old pressed her foot to the gas, watching the air intake system begin to vent to reach alarming speeds the car was fully capable of. "Wooo Whowhowho!!!" she screamed as she hit the end of the street in 7 seconds flat, it was so accelerating, the speed and power of such a car.
As the brakes fully applied themselves, her phone began to blare a random ring tone, nothing special, just the one of the many tones it came with. She pulled the slender device from her pocket, seeing the name going across her mini LCD screen.
"Yea, this is Akyo. What's up?" she spoke in her not to formal tone, sure it was a fellow member from the Shadow Stones, but she didn't speak to her grandmother with respect, what would be the difference on a fellow member? She tried to lighten the air, using friendly conversation and much needed sarcasm.

Jared's smile turned coy at the sound of Akyo on the other end of the phone. He was ready to start the next step in finding the stones. The first search was for the one the scientist had, or atleast for the Shadow Stones. In Jared's mind, "closer to home, closer to heart" applied to the stones. He felt as if it were right there but he couldnt grab it for the love of all things. He grimaced for a second, hesitating to talk as he thought about how close he felt.
"Ah, yes. Billy could you please head your way to the base. The next phase in this search is now well on its fast track start. I have compiled a map of our town and the neighboring ones as well, and im having the computer search them. It will spit out its resulted contents of anything underneath ground level within the next thirty minutes. That should be plenty of time to get here." He said nonchalantly.

Billy nodded, even though Jared couldn't see. It was more on her confirmation if anything. Then her girlish voice came over the speaker once more, a little less enthusiastic then before. She really hated not being able to spend time with her baby, but... duty calls. She had taken responsibility when she joined the Shadow Stones.
"Alright. We'll be there rather quickly" she said referring to her car, this was pretty common for Billy, seeing that the car was like a person to her. She was her baby, her life. The only thing that seemed to stay the same in this world. She quickly put the Mustang in reverse and began to make her way to the base.
she tossed her phone in the seat next to her, making sure her headset was on. She hated driving and talking with a phone to her ear, so she was commonly seen with the thing when she needed to drive. She kept her foot on the gas, speeding the whole way to the base. "Good reason they call me lead foot. I suppose... But if you got it, use it. At least that's what papa use to tell me.." she said to herself as she watched the lines on the road speed pass her.
17 minutes time she found herself at the Base. She sighed, pulling her jacket off the back seat, and headed inside. After doing a series of codes and scans to get into the main part. By the time she reached Jared, 20 minutes had passed. "Welp. What's new?" she asked dully as she took a seat close to him, her mouth chewing intently on a piece of bubble gum. (Sorry I didn't use more description, but I wasn't sure how you wanted the base to look. Like a underground thing. Or a old building. )

Jared laughed as Billy arrived ten minutes early. "Ha! Ever so dependable Billy. Now the scan wont finish for the next ten minutes, and instead of sitting here quietly like were back in school or something, let us strike a convo." Jared said very lax in his posture, and eager to get this thing going. And with no site of The Gemz, things looked like they would be going quite smoothly.
"So, that garage. yes, quite, how is it there? I never really hear much about what you do. You must enjoy some aspect of the job to stay. Im surprised you werent thrown out for your abilities, unless they do not know. many places seemed to try their hardest to shun us. I know some of the schools in America wont let people study due to their powers. Even the elementary kids are to go without learning it really is sad. But thats why we're here we will fix that and the people who shunned us..." He paused as he sensed himself getting worked up. "Well lets just say it will not be a problem any longer."((yeah it is underground. its underneath a laboratory that Jared had taken was trying to be a bit more realistic there. i mean seriously who wouldnt notice construction at a conquered place things would go down with the law.))
