anyone read this? i thought it was really good. i saw willard, so naturally i had to read the book. interestingly enough, the character's name in "ratman's notebooks" is never mentioned; it was a creation of hollywood.

Oh yes, I have Ratman's Notebooks. Very good book. Much darker than either version of the movie, although, iirc, the original followed the story more closely than the remake did. Not that I didn't love the remake, but the ending ticked me off. Ben was supposed to win, dammit! twisted
I also have the novelization for Ben, which isn't anywhere near as good as Ratman's, but still, not a bad story(if you like rats...) Hope they'll eventually release the original Willard & Ben on DVD.
Interesting bit of trivia: they published Ratman's Notebooks as the screenplay for the original Willard movie.
