The year is 4078, it has been nearly two thousand years sense the war that was supposed to end all wars occurred. The cause for the flash, as it was nicked named, was caused by the rivalries of the world’s nations. All of them were contending for their place as a super power. With the economic crash, of the early 2000 holding a death grip on the world for a full century every one welcomed the sight of a new nation rising the markets with its new products and need to intake the gifts of its neighbors. The world fell into a slate of nothing but economic growth the third world was something of the past. No life was untouched by the new nation, and all welcomed them as the saviors of the world. Soon the earth became to docile humans looked to the sky’s seeking a new land to concur. The space age was something feared by all men and women.
200 years filled with peace, growth, and prosperity would pass before the world came around to a breaking point. With more than a million people living within in each square mile the world was finally over populated. Sky master building rose into the stratosphere, and every possible coastal block of land was ether industrialized, or a plat form for these monsters of buildings. Tens of trillion people called this city, that lined the hole of every nation, home.
Public displeasure with the cost and heavy demand of resources used to construct launch pads, space stations, and even a military base on the moon grew. Quickly bearing the poor fruits that many of the historians feared. Riots, looting, pure chaos reigned over the world like it did so long ago. When it looked like the world could no longer stand to be in its fragile peace, both with its self and with its place in the space. Humankind pulled all resources from the sky, grounding, crashing, deactivating, or just abandoning all together every last remnant of our greatest achievement. but this action was not embraced by all. in one monuments act of defiance. a few regions of the world were light aflame with primitive weapons of mass destruction. when no nation laid claim to the act. suspicion rose. as the last few pieces of our tech fell from the sky. the worlds leaders had had enough. the people called for war, and a settling of the old score. The gates of hell were opened on the world and nothing would survive or so it was believed. The nuclear blasts glowed with the power and glory to scorch even the coldest places in this solar system. The few fall out shelters that survived the blasts and continuous long life radiation of those bombs gave birth to the next stage in mans existence.
50 Years would pass, Mankind stayed hidden deep in the earth fearing the effects of their war. the world above them went through the stages of nuclear winter, and then rebirth. the few seeds that survived just long enough sprouted and began to grow. hidden deep in the deserts of the world these pods of natural life began in the very center of every land mass. The coasts were nothing but barren rock, scrap metal and the ruins of the once massive city's that cast shadows miles into the sea.
when those first few shaky steps were taken out side of the fall out shelters, every nation was wearing the same seal. the hole world had united under the effects of their own mistakes and were now dedicated to make their new world a better one. Though it took a few years, citys started to sprout and dot the land scape. 50 years later legends, and miles of parchment were used to finalize what every one had been doing for the past 75 years. the world was finally at peace with its self and no wars would be raged against men again.
Though man kind was not the only form of life to learn from the mistakes of man and adapt to this new world. The few pieces of plant life, and animals that survived. were, at first, plagued with sickness and deformities that threatened their very existence. but as their habitats grew in size, their health improved and with the radiation being present in every part of their diet their bodies started to change in unforeseen ways.
Some of these pockets of pure nature were simply barren deserts, devoid of all visible manner of life, nothing but a smothering, ever shifting sea of sands, and rocks; Where the temperatures would rise well over 120 during the day, and then fall below freezing at night. Others were wild jungles stuffed with abstract and crazy life forms that had to evolve and adapt to the radiation let behind by that age old war. Mountains, and forests were something to be feared; nature was left to takes its course with little to no interference by mankind. Though its containment turned the calm hand of Gaia, into a powder keg that would eventually explode. the stories first flew out from the crazy and down trodden few of the world that tried to make a living on the land. But soon man and beast were locked in a seemingly impossible war. with deaths mounting and the lower streets being infested with bizarre and obscene animals governments from every nation agreed that something must be done about this invasion.
“The lands of man cannot allow this kind of slaughter to continue as natural as these beasts may be. They are still that, beasts. None of them have found ways to use weapons or tools. There social origination is that of archery. The strong ruling over the week, fathers owning everything without lifting a finger but once or twice in his life… these things, must be eliminated. The chaos that had swept this world so many years ago must not be allowed to come back. Every ma has evolved beyond the animalistic instincts that once governed our every way of life. In the hope of keeping the peace we must advance further then these beasts, and quickly. Being so a 700 trillion grant has been set up; for anyone who can create a simple way to push the extremes of the human genome to grant us, humans the power of nature so that these beasts may be banished from our lands for good. “
With thunderous applause the one tech that had been avoided for centuries was welcomed as a competitive sport. In 2850, Human experimentation, Genetic manipulation and altercations in every shape and form were pushed onto the masses. At first the tech was locked only to the military. 50 years of resherch and development would pass before the first subjects were confirmed to be stable and approved for service.
With each best captured killed and exploited new units would explode onto the face of the earth. Normal humans would walk into the recruiting stations and a few years later they would enter the battle field with more than just a few enhancements. Regeneration, enforcement of the standard human skeleton, and god like might being drawn from the limbs of every man became standard and for most this is where the gaining of power ended. But for those who’s genome showed remarkable ability to take the changed, adapt the DNA and still hold a memory bank for more were pushed into a special program. Dubbed the dark star units these men and women were given the animalistic powers of the prey they caught. Most were common place after the first 20 years of the war, and all of the units held the ‘breed’ that they were blended with on every part of their uniforms. snakes that could spit acid, shed their outer skin, organs, and limbs down to the very bone and grow it back within a day, super human speed, razor sharp fangs, talons that could cut diamonds, armored skin that deflected even plasma bolts. Were just a few of the powers that were given to these men and women. Each and every animal that was killed had its DNA strain stored and locked into a data bank. This way the powers would not be lost. 200 years after they were started the beast wars were over the lands fell silent. Humans were left alone, minus a few insects that never 'revolted', to stand vidual over the lands, govern the trees, and mountains. Devour the lost life and spread the new. But the world went on living in its most basic form. the lands within a few miles of the city’s stayed healthy the pollen and seed getting spread and cared for by humans that desired to do so. But the rest of the world was left to rot and turn into dust. Now only rocks, dirt, clay, and sands welcome the wondered that wish to venture out in. thought there are still a few places that support life beyond the green belt zone. Most of the land is a barren and forgotten place.
During the beast wars any laws were passed and many thing were gained. But one thing was lost. Thrown out into the forests and forgotten. The history of humans. Everything before the flash was still mostly lost, but everything barbaric was discarded and left to disappear into the earth. And for a time nothing was seen. The wars ended, and most of the soldiers were sent home. But the genetic tech was not let alone. A few men kept working trying to find a way to make it cheaper and safer so that it could be put into the masses. Soon they had their wish. A simple process was found and put into the medical offices around the world. Though it was treated with fear at first the chance to have a perfect baby, the perfect man, lose pound of fat. Anything became possible, and that ability soon turned the minds o the mob to accept this tech as common place. And the simpler changes came every cheep so everyone could have the perfect … anything.
but every advance in human history has had a backlash that would rear its ugly head eventually, 350 years after this tech was developed, and 50 years after it hit the civilian market a disturbing trait began to appear in the chains of the young, and some times in the old. Called the limit of human evolution at first. The trait was an unchangeable strand in the human genome. The effects of this glitch were uncontrollable. Sometimes it would do nothing, other times it would react so violently that the subject, and sometimes the mother, if it was a baby, would die in a bath of blood screams and mutilation. Often times most bodies were burnt and those people that were found with the trait that had no side effects were sterilized and banded from all genetic alterations. The thought being ‘its genetic, so we will simply breed out the chaff so they will take their curse with them when they return to the ground.
Though some scientists saw this plague as a puzzle to be cured. they worked feverishly for centuries. trying to develop a vaccine or altercation in the tech so that this problem could be negated in normal human life. half a melenia would pass before anything promising came to life. it was a altercation to the aids virus strand that targeted the specific bad genomes and attempted to kill them off, and replace them with a clean protein strand. being praised as the saviors of the world the shot was put into its initial testing phase. with promising results the test subjects were let back out into the public. no more then a week later there was a pandemic of the same virus strain that was ripping holes in city populations and the peoples trust in the government. the plan for stopping the advance of the plagues as they arrived was simple. Seal off the area, nothing went in, and nothing came out. 20 years would pass, witch was the life span of the virus in its dormant state, and the quarantine would be lifted. life would return to he area. Stories came back from the sites, saying that the land looked like the moon. coated in ash and devoid of all life forms. plants were literally scorched in place and crumbled to dust at the slightest tremor.
the SCP was the brain child of the Unity Act that brought the world under one banner. they were granted power beyond civil law, and were mostly exempt from them. But they have a system of harsh punishments for betrayers within their own ranks. their power and renown was born out of the beast wars. where the Genetic Enhancement Tech or GET, was born and used with out discretion. though most of the super cells and troops have been disbanded a few still remain as the final trump card for serious conflicts. they had their hand in every major military operation over the world to the present day.

It has been three hundred years sense these event took place. and the world has turned mostly calm and content with its existence. The Rage plague, and STAR Syndrome are still present in the world, but are treated like the under ground curse of every city. only effecting the few caught in the cross fire. the world is a clean and proud stat with buildings that are once again scratching the limits of space and breathable air. Flying cars, super computers in the palm of your hand are a standard for most levels of life. but for all the civilian advances, that lurched with the years of development, weapons regressed. Martial arts and hand held blades are the standard. ranged weapons are limited, and considered a cowards weapon.
