I am unable to get into the Movie talk section, once that is figured out, I will gladly move this...
Thank oh great and powerful Guild Leader

I literally cried when I saw the opening scene of Pandora, and her forests. Since I was little, I have had reoccurring dreams of a forest, lush with wild plants, and trees taller than most city skylines. And at night, Gods, at night, it glows in all sorts of colors. I just saw my dreams placed on the big screen. It was... I can't even describe it other than crying and smiling in seeing familiar sights.

When I visualize my "happy place" for various purposes, it is Hometree. I kid you not. Of course, my Hometree is a giant Oak of the same size as Hometree, but seeing it sent chills down my spine. (needless to say I sobbed when it fell)

I fell in love after that.

Are you serious? It's not working for you? D< Lemme fix that and I'll move it for you! :3

I can agree with you, you aren't alone. Ever since I was little, I always dreamed of magical places like Pandora! And after seeing this movie, my heart flooded with wishing to live in a place like that. I'm tired of all the cars and buildings and hell, even computers!

I cried when the tree fell too! I was wailing NOoOOoo! And my friend next to me was trying to hold in the biggest pouty face!

I also enjoyed the Dragon Riders of Pern like bonding with the Banshee's. Those novels have a special place in my heart ^_^

I haven't cried so much in a movie since Passion of the Christ.

The only downside to the movie, I found the 3-d-ness, sickening. I have a lazy eye so I don't think it turned out right for me... That and I found it... useless...?

Oh, I have never heard of those books. How many are there and approx. how long? I may look into them! (I hope there are actual dragons in the books?)

I've never even seen that movie. I wanted to, but my family denied me...and my friends didn't want to rent it either...

I loved the 3D experience! Do you think maybe it was motion sickness? I've never experienced it so for me, it was so amazing. I felt like I was really there. They did a wonderful job. Useless? Aww, I'm sorry you felt that way D: I guess it kind of was...but I did notice that the 3D version had much brighter and vivid colours. The 2D version was low saturated in comparison ;0;.

I have counted 15 Pern Novels on my shelf (lol next to compy) and I have about 2/3 of them. Fairly descent length, they are meant for adults. Yes, actual dragons.

Eh, I felt the 3-D was useless for me with my lazy eye (the old blue/red 3-d I couldn't even see, which was lame...) Though, since you mention the brighter/vividness, I am glad I saw the 3D version now

I couldn't make it through Passion. I am not even Christian and I cried so hard.

Hmm..some time over the spring and summer I'll start looking into them!

Wait, you're telling me you saw the movie with the old red and blue glasses? Those were horrible! The ones I used were much better D:

I'm not Christian either, but I wanted to be curious...then someone stomped on my curiosity.

No, when I went to go see old red/blue 3d bs, I never saw it. I was hesitant to see Avatar because I was worried if I didn't see the 3d it would ruin the movie (thankfully I can see the new 3d, though the glasses are ugly... I am modding mine)

Wow. That's pretty amazing that you dreamed of a place like Pandora. I can't even imagine how that would feel.

It is pretty trippy. What was most eerily similar was the whirlybird lizards, the neon effect of darkness, and the huge trees.
I have a few reoccurring dream sets; what will really freak me out is a stream covered in small crystals. (the set I dream most often)

I loved the way the Na'vi bond with their mounts also. and the fact that Pandora has, essentially, a organic "world wide web" was cool. anyone here think that Eywa is a organic AI of the network? anywho...It's not often I actually feel sad when a character is killed off, but Avatar managed that not once, but twice, first with grace, then Truity. Truities was worse in a way, bacause she was, essentially, already dead ( her Sampson - I think that's what the transports were called- was already going down) yet the colonel took time to coup 'd grace her.

can't blame you for having dreams that are like sets from the movie. for me it started after i saw the movie and has given me new hope for my dreams as an artist (even though i can't draw a na'vi i have drawn some pretty cool wildlife that i think would fit in there especially in the oceans cuase that was the one that was missing sea creatures.
