I thought this subforum could do with a something like this, just to get people talking.

So, what was your favourite scene and why?

I have to say, mine is when Jake first links with his Avatar, and tries running. Something about the emotions in this part really made an impression for me.

I also really love the bits where Jake is learning their ways. There's something very charming about the way Neytiri chastises his child-like naivety.

So what parts did you like? xp

I loved both those scenes, One of my other Favorites is when they mate.
And the Ritual with the Soul Swapping.

First flying on a Mountain Banshee. Yay flight, and pseudo dragons.

When Trudy pulls away when they're destroying Hometree. I clapped when that guy said, "What're you doin'?!" and she says,"I didn't sign up for this s**t!"

Hahah, someone applied with the favourite scene being from the opening to the ending credits. I forget who that was now (sorryy!) but it really made me laugh. Very agreeable.

But as for one particular scene. I think it was with the tree spirits, when one lands on Neytiri's arrow, and then again when they all nestled on Jake's avatar body. Thought it was so magical...I don't know, but it really touched me! The music was so mystical, in fact I'm listening to it right now!

Randomly, has anyone noticed that the Avatars have four fingers while the Na'vi have three?

I enjoyed the part were we see the thanator for the first time and jake almost gets killed.

" so what do I do with this one? run? don't run? what?"
Thanator looks at him and snarls.
" Run. definatly run!"

The part were he takes down the Valkyrie is awesome also. I was wondering from the beginning of the battle how he intended to kill it, then he used the grenade. add in the way how when he's on top of the Dragon, the way he pulls the pins, then as the Colonel is looking, releases the spoons on the grenades. It's like he's saying " hey buddy. got a present for you".

Hands down its when they see each other for the first time and Jake reaches up and touches her cheek and goes,"I see you." it was so emotional and that whole battle scene before it where Neytiri owns the general with the arrows to the chest was good to.

I loved it at night when everything was illuminated with florescent colors... I sure it would be difficult to play "hide and seek in the dark" with your foot prints showing... But beautiful none the less. lol

Another scene that was locked in my brain was when Home Tree was destroyed. All that red and orange of the fire against the green's and blues form the homeland was shocking in contrast, although I'm sure that's what they were going for.

I think that's someone being retarded and counting a thumb as a finger. The Na'vi have three fingers and one thumb. The Avatar's have four fingers and a thumb. Like people.

The Tides Beholder

I watched the movie a second time in theaters - this time in 3D, and, my new favorite scene was, yes, a terribly sad one, but it was the part after the horse-people had retreated during the battle, and, in slow motion, one riderless horse (they're not truly horses, but I don't know what else to call them) galloped through the forest, back and neck blazing with flames. It was heartrending, especially for me, an animal lover, albeit a non-existant animal (or perhaps not twisted ), yet it was beautifully done. I could just feel its fear, running for its life from the fire that was killing the poor creature.

I get what your saying, about the Direhorse, but I think it was intended to be something of a "now we know they've really lost" message for the audience... Might also be something along the lines of showing that the Na'vi's way of life is ending. not sure if thats true, but possible.

I like it when they try to put Grace into her Avatar.
