Just curious why punx and hippies have been hating each other, or atleast punks really seem to hate hippies.
I mean ******** sure they had a different method but they stand for all the exact same things. Sure, they were a little too calm, but it could be argued punk is a little too agressive. (I'd hate to see the face -or what is left- of the ******** who said that at a large concert).

So.. what is the big differential that causes y'all to hate them?

I see them as having beliefs for the sake of having them. Whereas punks (or the majority of them at least) have some conviction, the Hippies seem to be the opposite.

my best friend is a hippie, and i can be... "hippie-ish" at times, and i respect it... actually i've never had any problems with hippies.
i don't see the big deal at ALL.

I still dont see where you get this. they were anti war, they protested a whole hell of a lot more famously than any punks did. they were against complacency, they were into nature worship, the new age movement came from hippies. Their existance was there resistance.

and mr. lung. Joplin was the s**t!

Not even mentioning Jefferson Airplane.

All the hippies I've ever met have been cunts. None of them have any goddamn conviction. They say they're vegetarian and look down their noses at you, but have no ******** problem picking off your goddamn hamburger. They believe in all these hollow ******** organizations like PETA and say how great ******** Sea Shepard is but don't even open their eyes. Almost 94% of PETA's money goes to PR, and don't even get me started on Sea Shepard.

... Did I just start talking about yuppies?

1 bull s**t, I dont go on heresay about "in my experience". all the vegitarians ive met are very nice and careing people. alittle fanatic maybe but ive never met any that look down their noses.

2 PETA is a PR organization, that PR is how they base awareness. They are THE most successful animal rights activist organization in the world. so dont tell me they are hollow.

3 Id like to see the world through your eyes in which there arent a** hole punks that look down their noses at those that are less punx than they are, or contradict their 'ideals', or hang on to hollow organizations, or hollow icons of the punk culture, or are just all around idiots.

the world is filled with stupid ignorant people, hippies, punks, beatnicks, yuppies, yale graduates, presidents, republicans, country bumpkins, and jazz musicians. it doesnt make a difference what category you find people in, it matters what they are individually. yes alot of hippies are burned out slobs with no real fight left in them, but just as many punks are just the same.

you can rant on and on about ideals, and conviction, dedication, and righteousness. but all you end up doing is looking down your own nose at other people yourself.

Boots. Let me just point out:
Hawaii.

I don't get all the experiences you do over on the mainland. Which is probably why the Hippies I meet are more like yuppies and total cunts and the punks I meet are really nice. I didn't say vegetarian, I have very nice vegetarian friends, I said Hippie, I'm talking dreadlocks, vegetarianism, Eastern religion that they don't really believe in. The works. I live in a small town called Waimea on the Big Island, this is a "ranching community", but has been turned into a tourist attraction because of Parker Ranch. Everyone here is a Hippie because it's cool to be a Hippie.

Remember. Hawaii. I live in a place you can drive around in 7 hours.

I'm sorry I made you mad, bro.
Maybe when I'm on the mainland I can really get where you're coming from. I'm going to a liberal college (lol redundancy) that's all about environmentalism and all that. Maybe I can finally meet some Hippies that aren't pricks.

Though, I gotta tell you, San Francisco liberals piss me off. Jello Biafra was a c**t, no matter what anyone says. Also the Dead Kennedys were over rated.

Lets all go bum around and listen to Tom Waits.

Animal rights my a*****e. PETA is the biggest joke in the book. I'm all about animal rights and awareness, but PETA harms more than it helps.

Not even sure if this was mentioned or not, I'm too lazy for an investigation.
