1) Plasma weaponry
The Standard Chryssalid weapon type is a type of Plasma. It has high penetration but takes time to recharge. Like the Harper Longblaster, it uses gas from around the weapon, but has the option to place inside power packs of dense liquids as a substitute. It then uses energy to charge the molecules of the substances, turning them into plasma. The plasma then is shot out at a superfast and super hot rate. Their barrels are usually very small, (~1mm), and so this creates an immensely powerful but focused beam. Useful for penetrating armor, its barrel can be widened, making it a formidable foe verses unarmed opponents too. Most Plasma types have an attachment placed on the barrel that focuses the beam, however, this can be removed when necessary.

Name/Model Number: Plasma Pistol
Alias: Plasmafist
Race/Product Manufacturer: Chryssalids
Physical Description/Dimensions:
Length: ~13cm
Height: ~10cm
Width: ~4cm
Caliber: N/A
Range: 200 meters, but dissipates after that, going out at 500m, but at less strength
Round Capacity: 4 shots per canister
Rate of Fire: 30 shots per min
Operation: semi-automatic (but with 2 sec recharge rate)
Sights: None
History/Design Features: This has been around for a long time, with little or no modifications. It fits snugly into the hands of all Chryssalids, and is an easy weapon to use, as well as being versitile.
Master/ Operator: Chryssalids, but can be used by other races at a pinch (it has only three finger holes, and sucker pads are required to get the best grip.)
Specialty: a standard soldier carries multiple pistols.
Strengths: high powered penetrating, lightweight, cheep to produce, durable
Weaknesses: large kickback, long recharge rate, short range, inaccurate, low ammo capacity, slight chance of exploding.
Other: The two second cooldown is not s bad as it seems, as the recoil throws the Chryssalid’s arms around violently. (from lack of bones) It requires them almost two seconds to get their gun back into position again, so there is not much loss. Also, if a pistol is fired before the two seconds have passed it will do one on two actions. If you are lucky, it will rattle and emit a weak beam, proportionate to the time it had to charge up. If you are not lucky, it will over heat and explode, from attempting to turn all the necessary material into plasma in much to short a space of time, melting through the walls of the gun, and destroying it, and the hand carrying it too.

Name/Model Number: Plasma rifle
Alias: none, the Chryssalids do not invent slang, and it is not seen enough for other races to name it, yet…
Race/Product Manufacturer: Chryssalids
Physical Description/Dimensions:
Length: ~1 meter
Height: ~9-4cms
Width: ~5cm
Caliber: N/A
Range: 1000yrds, then decrease until 1300
Round Capacity: 1 shot per canister
Rate of Fire: 3 sec, but it takes about that long to reload, so all works out perfectly.
Operation: sniper, manual reload
Sights: quad-sight, utilizing all four eyes of the Chryssalid race.
History/Design Features: used as a sniper rifle, or as a solid-slug shotgun, this is usually fired while on six legs/arms for greater stability.
Master/ Operator Chryssalids, but can be used by other races at a pinch (it has only three finger holes, and sucker pads are required to get the best grip.)
Specialty: snipering, or against heavily armored opponents, relatively easy to produce
Strengths: very strong shot, long range, very accurate
Weaknesses: long reload time, possible overheat, unwieldy, large kickbacks
Other: The Rifles that the Chryssalids have are Plasma, but contrary to Plasmafists, are long range and very accurate. This tends to give them a sniper aspect to the armies, as well as being able to function as a normal rifle, albeit with slow-firing shots. The Plasma Rifle is not, contrary to other races, the weapon of choice for their brute infantry. The rifles are given out to one in five squids only when heavily armed opponents are present. Otherwise, one in twenty Chryssalid warriors have them. Spies almost never use rifles, although there have been special cases. (almost exclusively for sniper missions) The rifles require two hands, but use six limbs for full stability, and they also have a grape-shot. The Chryssalid gets on the ground, planting his lower arms on the ground like humans crawling. It then can aim, and shoot pretty well, with the rifle. It is also used as a shotgun with single shot, as they have observed many well-protected possible opponents. (Miri, Djin, Izani shields, basically everyone else…) (mod: Could you clarify this? Are you saying that the Chryssalids have already fought all the other races? -DC) (ooc. They have not fought yet, but intelligence work has been done)

Camo CloakThis is a full body suit made at a relatively low cost, and produced in large numbers. Essentially, it’s an invisibility suit. It reflects the colors of the surface behind it, and changes as the background changes. It does not bend light, but it simulates the effects of that. Granted, this can be odd, and it’s not foolproof. When viewed, it looks like a shimmer in the air. You can vaguely see the outline, and the 3-d aspect of the object wrapped in the suit. The cloak is tight, and stretches to accommodate the wearer, forming a web between legs, arms and body, chin and neck… Thus, the Shimmering shape is relatively flat, and has none of the defining shapes that you would expect for an organism, instead looking like a flat surface. It would look something like this, except with a Chryssalid inside, and the legs would be a flat surface, therefore greatly decreasing the chances of being noticed.

It adjusts to changing surroundings almost instantaniously, but the brightness is not very much. For instance, if it is in front of a computer console, it would match that, but if an explosion was behind it, you would see a darker patch. At max capacity, it can put out slightly more light than a computer screen. This could mean that it casts a slight shadow in a brightly lit room, but that is only a minor inconvinience.
