Mia herself, was dusting the multitudes of books that outlined the columns and rows of the store. In a few moments the old man, got up and left. His shift was over, and at the very least he could have given her a nice word or two as he left. Oh well, she thought idly, serves him right.

Cordelia stood outside the bookstore and looked varily at the door, as if it would bite if she touched it. She had been standing like that for quite a while, trying to gain enough courage to open the door and enter the little cozy bookstore.

She took a deep breath, but just as she was about to open the door the door opened by itself and almost smacked her in the face. Out came a little grumpy looking man who just snorted at her surprised face. "How RUDE!" she thought as she finally entered the book store. The now familiar shelves were, as usual, piled with dusty old books.

There was no sign of anybody being here, so she wandered around for a little while occasionally taking a book down from a shelf and flip through a few pages of it.

Mia suddenly saw Cordelia and squealed with delight. She was sure she had met her before. Didn't she? It was a pity she had very bad short memory span. Mia Alanna waddled right up her her; the many bangles on her bare ankles, and rounded arms clinked together in odd harmony, sounding quite loud now that she was moving rapidly.

"Well hello there! How may I help you?" she asked in as a delightful manner as she had just squealed.

Cordelia, who had been deeply engrossed in a particular interesting chapter in a book on water lillies, jumped a meter in the air as someone all of a sudden spoke to her from behind.

"Well hello there! How may I help you?" she heard a feminine voice squeal. She immidiately reckognized the voice and turned around with a smile.

"Hello again! I don't know if you remember me... I'm Cordelia... I came here a few weeks ago and I... came into the possesion of this card" she said as she pulled out a card from her inner pocket. The corners were now slightly fuzzy.

"I was just wondering... you said that you might be able to help me explain things further? Since I... recieved... this card, strange things have been happening to me"

((I'm referring to my diary entry in this... I hope it's okay... When I wrote the entry, some things were still slightly fuzzy for me, so I'm correcting mistakes in it now ^___^))

(( Psssh, there are no mistakes. :p ))

Mia cocked her head in deep thought for a moment, assuming a blank stare.

"Oh yes!" She chimmed, "I remember now... slightly." she grinned sheepishly up to her. She rocked back and forth on the heels of her bare feet. Powers are leaking onto the owner? That was a new revelation. It's leaking...? she thought interestingly. She stopped rocking as she continued to let her mind whirr with thoughts. Without fully thinking, however, she grasped the card in the woman's hand.

Nope.... None. She didn't feel anything. Oh but of course. It wasn't her Soulkard. How silly of her.

"Hum, you better come with me," she said a little detachedly, and let go of the card.

Cordelia couldn't help but give a yelp of surprise as Mia yanked the card out of her hands. She felt strangely... attached to the card now. She shook herself mentally, she was being silly! It was just a card! ...right?

Upon hearing the "you'd better come with me" Cordelia cocked her eyebrow. Maybe, just maybe, it wasn't just a card after all?

"Uh... sure" she said "you lead the way!"

Mia smiled a little smile. She hadn't mean to startle her. Then without a word she turned and went towards the back of the store. It was a little dark since there were no windows to shed light. The store was built slightly into the mountain!

But... lo and behold at the back wall there was a double-door! It was a fire exit, tucked away it seemed to be inconspicuous and half-hidden by the stuffed wall of decorations. Mia gave a quick look back to Cordelia with a silly grin on her face. Then she thrust open the doors and bright sunlight flooded the floor with its golden carpet. The fresh slight breeze brought in the fresh scents.

Cordelia stood with her mouth hanging open. Where did THAT come from? But... this was built into a mountain! How'd...?

Realizing how stupid she must have looked, Cordelia gave up trying to figure out how this was possible for now. Closing her still gaping mouth she just put a blank look on her face and followed Mia out the door. Nothing would ever be able to surprise her again.

Mia had grinned to herself as she ushered your partner through the doors. She put the wedges down to keep the light open the waved her hand neligently to flip the open sign to closed at the very front of the store.

She didn't notice as she left that it was not flipped and the warm liquid flowed in dancing waves on the floor and the earthy breeze caress the old books and bookstore room.
